Flight 1 (13 notes)

Red
2009 Les Forts de Latour France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac
94 points
very open nose, giving, exuberant - ok this is what 2009 is about
Red
2005 Les Forts de Latour France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac
93 points
quite fine tannins, lovely nose, layered
Red
2005 Château Latour Grand Vin France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac
99 points
smooth, delicious, amazing length, more open than I expected
Red
2003 Château Latour Grand Vin France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac
92 points
Did not like this that much even though this is of course still a good wine for the vintage - felt there was not the same elegance and balance that we could see in the other Latours. Would drink this rather sooner than later

perfect wine in the making, wonderful aromatics, great elegance, length. Orange peel in the middle. Wow.

Red
1996 Château Latour Grand Vin France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac
95 points
Lovely wine, great potential, less ready than the 1995
Red
1995 Château Latour Grand Vin France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac
96 points
on this evening the 95 was better, more ready, more open than the 1996
Red
2006 Château Latour Grand Vin France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac
97 points
Rich, elegant, quite opulent - probably my best 2006 I have had
Red
2003 Les Forts de Latour France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac
91 points
Felt more integrated than the grand vin - some sweetness, hints of tobacco, quite a good wine
Red
2008 Les Forts de Latour France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac
88 points
a bit austere, nose almost absent particularly compared to 2009, not great at this stage
Red
2002 Château Latour Grand Vin France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac
96 points
very well made wine - regret I sold these
Red
2004 Les Forts de Latour France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac
91 points
fine nose, good for a 2004
Red
1990 Château Latour Grand Vin France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac
97 points
This ex-Chateau bottle showed very well - very opulent and a bit exotic; understand the 1990s are particularly sensitive to heat - so storage and provenance is key
