White
2007 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc Cuvée Roussanne Vieilles Vignes
94 points
lovely as usual. rich and complex.
Flight 2 (2 notes)
Red
2004 Château Rayas Châteauneuf-du-Pape Pignan Reserve
92 points
initially earthy and herbaceous, but opened up beautifully with an expressive nose of framboise and lychee after decanting for a couple of hours.

2004 Château Rayas Châteauneuf-du-Pape Reserve
92 points
still tightly wound after double decanting for a couple of hours. could be little shut down. structurally longer and more powerful than the Pignan but the latter is more enjoyable at this stage. store away for now.
Flight 3 (1 note)
Red
1995 Domaine Jean-Louis Chave Hermitage
94 points
didn't have time to decant but still very fragrant with lovely notes of violet and dried herbs. tannins a little harsh on the finish. definitely need to decant for at least an hour next time.
Flight 4 (1 note)
Red
1996 Domaine Dujac Clos de la Roche
93 points
lovely floral nose with lots of secondary flavours. a little disappointed with the lightness. lacks power and punch.
