Medium(-) ruby, hesitant legs. Medium(-) developing nose of raspberries, strawberries, grapes, some oak notes and later picked up lovage (aka lavas or maggi) and leaf scents. Dry, high acidity, medium tannins, medium body and medium(+) alcohol @ 14% abv. Medium flavours of red cherries, wood, bitter chocolate. Good length, fresh slightly bitter finish. A good wine, a bit rustic and square, character and typicity.

Medium(-) ruby, slow moving narrow legs, no rim. Medium intriguing nose of red fruit, spice, and later cocoa and smoke. Dry, medium(+) acidity, medium ripe tannins, medium body and warm medium(+) alcohol. Medium flavors of dried cherries, berries, white pepper. Pretty linear and simple, balanced. Good length with dry chalky finish.

Medium(-) ruby with garnet rim, viscous. Medium(-) developing nose rather closed nose of red berries, dried red fruits, some spice. Dry, medium acidity, light-medium(-) tannins, medium(-) body and medium alcohol. Medium flavors of strawberries, small red fruits with savory notes penetrating later upon opening. Elegant, light-footed. Good length with focussed fruit-driven finish.

Light ruby with narrow watery rim, narrow legs. Medium(-)-medium developing nose of red fruits, barnyard, allspice, needs more time to open. Dry, medium acidity, medium(-) tannins, medium(-) body and medium alcohol. Medium flavors of red fruits, cherries, berries, soft peppery and savory notes, reasonably complex. Balanced and presence are good, more persistent and structured than the other Etna samples. Elegant, good length with long finish. Cellar potential. 89+

Light-medium(-) ruby with narrow legs, viscous @ 14% abv. Medium developing nose of red small fruits balanced by meaty notes, savory, promises complexity. Dry, medium acidity, medium ripe tannins, medium body and medium(+) alcohol. Medium-medium(+) flavors of ripe red cherries, jam, black pepper and savory meaty flavors, complex. Balanced, better structured and with more depth than the other Etna DOC samples. Great length with persistent finish. Complex, rich, clean and elegant: a good wine. Cellar potential. 90+
