at Chanoch Reichenberg

Tasted October 27, 2014 by Yagil with 244 views

Introduction

Chanoch prepared this evening well: 3 bottles were opened 1-2 hours ahead, very cheese (6 type), local version of Viande de Grison (good) and local peppered salami (good), bloc de foie gras and more...

Flight 1 (3 notes)

Red
2006 Prunotto Barbaresco Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barbaresco
89 points
classic Barbaresco character
requires at least 2-3 hours of decanting before reaching its optimal at this young age
transparent medium brown-purple
earthy-floral aroma, light fruits with spice hint
medium bodied, grip tannins of a very young wine, very tight, high acidity, mellows with time, good harmony, medium complexity. Overall a good wine requires further ageing.
Red
2006 Gaja Barolo Dagromis Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo
91 points
dark red-purple colour
classic Barolo earthy-fruity aroma with spicy-floral hints
medium-full bodied, grip tannins, too tight, very young wine, good acidity and harmony,
sweet cherries, mellows in the glass, but too tannic at the moment.
requires further ageing of 2-4 years at least, then will be much better.

Red
2009 Seguin-Manuel Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Les Vaucrains France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru
86 points
light transparent red-amber
notes of typical mid-level Cote de Nuits Pinot Noir, floral and fruity, become nicer after some time in the glass
light-medium bodied, good acidity, medium harmony, thin structured, bsic mid-level Nuits St. George.
Enjoyed more the aroma in the glass than the wine itself.

Closing

Hugo arrived first, I joined few min later, Dudu showed after another 30 min, while Arnoldo forgot about the event and was hauled after an hour.
We enjoyed tasting the various wines, with good bread, cheese and cold cuts!
90 min later Hugo left…. and we stayed another hour and enjoyed still...
