Very lovely aromas tending towards floral. Lovely vibrancy on palate entry. Smooth, very impressive, elegantly soft texture. Very smooth with pleasing integrated notes. Nice and smooth finish, with an awesome opening of vibrancy. Rich. This is definitely better than the 2012. An absolute home run QPR, probably the finest Chardonnay QPR in the world.

Indeed, this is not a misnomer... the wine is incredibly aromatic. It's quite floral, but also lots of melon is present. The palate entry is very smooth, with mellow, rich texture. There's little acid, but lots of vibrant, up front beautiful melon. Nice lingering notes on the finish with a better dial up of acid on the finish than the palate was leading on. Very nice notes. Pretty mellow, clean, and smooth. Well made, but not too deep or complex. Nice for this grape, for me. Sometimes these wines can come across quite candied, but this one is really just floral. Not too complex, but really nice and soft.

2013 L'Atouéyo Pinot Noir Valle d'Aosta Italy, Valle d'Aosta

This wine sees no wood, aged 6 months in Stainless steel. Very rich aromas, showing green stems and slightly under ripe notes, but pretty soft overall. Soft palate entry, which is quite nice and mellow; very lean, but nothing out of place. Just not too much going on. Prosciutto cuts some of the acid of it. Slightly puckering notions on the palate. Very nice lingering notes on the finish of minerals and acid. Very nice opening at the end, getting nearly pretty. Still wish for some more depth.

2012 L'Atouéyo Torrette Supérieur Italy, Valle d'Aosta, Torrette Supérieur

The Supèrieur is done with the appassimento method, like with Amarone. The aromas are much larger than anything to this point, perhaps as expected. It's very thick and rich, heavy flavors. Very soft and mellow, but too hefty expression of fruit. Nothing out of order, just darker than I usually like. Hefty notes on the finish too. Very large scaled. It's 14% alcohol and I think for me that gets in the way a bit. The cheese helps bring out some candied fruits, but overall this wasn't my style. Natasha did quite enjoy it, though.

Comes in at 13.5% alcohol. Very dark notes on thee nose. Smells very floral, too. Very nice, pretty flavors on palate entry. Quite lovely and pretty, though still tending towards the darker side of the flavor spectrum. Lovely lingering fruit notes that are quite rich, though soft. A nice wine.

N.V. L'Atouéyo Valle d'Aosta Vino da uve stramature Jalousie Italy, Valle d'Aosta
"Wine from overripe grapes," is the translation. This is a dessert wine made from Muscat blanc grapes. They say the yield for this wine produces just 30-35% of what regularly ripe grapes would. They do about 2,500 500ml bottles a year. This really does smell fantastic. Beautiful notes that are lovely floral and sweet. Quite fresh. Very well coating the palate and quite sweet. Melon notes, some sweet canteloupe. Typical flavors for a wine of this type, though. This could be from Oregon. Sweet corn notes on the finish. Very slight acid. Tart. I do appreciate the acid for a sweet wine.
