Lots of ripe black fruit with good concentration. Came across slightly older than most 2009s with a few awkward edges, but fruit concentration keeps this enjoyable. I'm not really familiar with this wine, but wouldn't think it will age gracefully beyond another few more years, at least not for this 2009.
Red
2003 Domaine Armand Rousseau Père et Fils Clos de la Roche France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos de la Roche Grand Cru

Served alongside Arlaud 1999 CdlR. Ripe black berries with some dark roast coffee and dark chocolate. Comes across as ripe like many 2003s but with above average acidity for the vintage. Very good concentration. First time I can recall trying this wine, it is a 2003 that will keep getting better from here.
Red
1999 Domaine Arlaud Clos de la Roche France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos de la Roche Grand Cru

Served alongside Rousseau 2003 CdlR. Lean for the vintage, all red fruit with very good spice, even better textures. Elegant for this producer, whose wines from this era I often found overly modern styled.I liked this most when first poured, but it seemed to lose a little weight with more air.
Red
2002 Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru

Combination of black and red fruit with very good power. This wasn't given much air before pouring, and certainly came across as slightly backward as a result, but with a good spice-driven and powerful finish.
Red
2000 Domaine Robert Arnoux / Arnoux-Lachaux Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Suchots France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru

Popped and poured. Lots of maturing red berry on nose and palate with very endearing baking spice throughout. Good from the first whiff and sip. No hurry to drink up, but also little upside from here.
