Introduction

My wife and I sat down to watch two movies on TMC. Sabrina and Casablanca, back to back. Bogie was great in both of them. We started with beer (I have a BBA Jackie O's Dark Apparition Stout and she had a Hoppin Frog Turbo Shandy. We switched to wine.

Whoa. This was outstanding and the best showing yet for this wine. And you know what, it may get a bit better from here. Pop and pour and this was singing from the beginning. The bottle didn't last that long but in the hour or two we drank it, it got rounder and smoother if not better. Purple in color. The nose has cassis, coffee, slight tobacco and leather. Really nice. On the palate, there is a wonderful velvety lush texture. Juicy fruit. Cassis, dark cherries with slight chocolate. Light tannins. Long finish. One of those wines that taste so good, every sip makes you want another one. Lots of sediment at the end.

Purple in color. The nose is great, really deep with black raspberries, beef blood, and black pepper. On the palate, this is big. Firm tannins. Lots of black raspberry fruit. Very deep and it unwinds slowly in the glass. This needs more time. We save half the bottle for Day 2, so I will check it out later. I would still continue to hold these.
