Introduction

Another fun afternoon drinking some really solid wines. All showed very well. Always fun.

Flight 1 (5 notes)

White
2010 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis 1er Cru Vaillons France, Burgundy, Chablis, Chablis 1er Cru
93 points
Nose: Big slate and wet stone minerals. Also a hint of very subtle petrol but not offensive....very cool. Some lemons come around after a bit of glass air time. Palate: Unreal balance and interplay between lemons and the lazer-like acid. The slate minerality shows up beautifully. Very pretty and elegant wine. Fantastic!
Red
2013 Carlisle Zinfandel Old Vines USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley
92 points
Nose: Really brambly raspberry aromas with some subtle cherry, mineral and vanilla hints. Very nice nose. Palate: Black raspberry, cherries and soft tannins. Very balanced and not showing the titanic 15.7% at all. Really solid effort.

Nose: Violets and mint with cherry. Palate: Flavors of mint, earth and soft tannins. Super balanced and interesting. 92+ points.
