Flight 1 - Perrot-Minot Tasting (8 notes)

Entirely consistent with when most of these same wines were tasted at the domaine in June.

Red
2014 Domaine Perrot-Minot Gevrey-Chambertin France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin
86 points
Tasting, brief note. Black cherry with smoked sausage notes and a slightly rugged texture. Very Gevrey character, slightly less finessed than I have grown to expect from Perrot-Minot, even at this level.
Red
2014 Domaine Perrot-Minot Morey St. Denis En la Rue de Vergy France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Morey St. Denis
89 points
Tasting, brief note. Floral with bright red cherry and berry. Moderate weight and length, but nicely textured and finessed. Came across as MSD meets Chamblle-Musigny, in a wonderfully elegant package for Villages level wine.
Red
2014 Domaine Perrot-Minot Morey St. Denis 1er Cru La Riotte France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Morey St. Denis 1er Cru
90 points
Tasting, brief note. More accessible vs when tasted at the domaine in a June. Meatier and denser vs the Vergy (Villages) just tasted, even if less texturally elegant. Black fruit with earth and good concentration. This comes across as MSD meets Gevrey. Hold to at least 2020.
Red
2014 Domaine Perrot-Minot Nuits St. Georges Les Murgers des Cras France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Nuits St. Georges
91 points
Tasting, brief note. Same wine as NSG VV tasted at the domaine in June. Red and black cherry with baking spice and the concentration you should expect from 1er Cru(which it is). Good balance already for a wine this young.
Red
2014 Domaine Perrot-Minot Charmes-Chambertin France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru
93 points
Tasted twice this evening. Red and black cherry with finesse and elegant textures, but nowhere near the concentration or power of Mazoyeres. I ever-so-slightly prefer this finesseful wine, but understand why most others disagreed.
Red
2014 Domaine Perrot-Minot Mazoyères-Chambertin France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Mazoyères-Chambertin Grand Cru
93 points
Tasted twice tonight over several hours. All black fruit coming across as very dense, meaty and powerful in a classically Gevrey package. This needs a decade in the cellar to develop some nuance. I prefer the Charmes right now, but expect this Mazoyeres will/might be better 2025 forward.
Red
2014 Domaine Perrot-Minot Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru La Richemone Vignes Centenaires France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru
92 points
Tasted several times tonight over 4 hours. Black and red cherry with baking spice. Powerful to start but slightly backward, this became longer and more powerful with a few hours in a decanter. Very fun, even if not incredibly nuanced. Cellar at least 5 more years.
Red
2014 Domaine Perrot-Minot Chambertin-Clos de Bèze France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru
94 points
Tasted several times through the evening, including alongside the 03,06,07 vintages. All black fruit with excellent concentration and balance. Spice hints on nose, more pronounced on the palate. Already very good, lots of upside 2025 forward. Consistent with when tasted a the domaine this summer.

Flight 2 - Some More Great Burgundy from DNS (4 notes)

White
2014 Benoit Ente Bourgogne-Aligoté France, Burgundy, Bourgogne-Aligoté
87 points
Tasting, brief note. Lemon and lime with plenty of acidity but easily enough concentration to balance that Aligote acidity. Good now, better in a year or two.
White
2015 Patrick Piuze Chablis Terroir de Fyé France, Burgundy, Chablis
87 points
Floral start with lemon custard and ripe apple aromas. Palate is slightly more restrained, less ripe. Very fun and tasty, even if not classically Chablis, but that's the vintage.
Red
2013 Domaine Gérard Julien et Fils Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Les Bousselots France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru
Tasting, brief note. My first wine from this producer. More red than black fruit that starts out bright, then finishes with more rugged textures, while retaining balance. Moderate weight and length.
Red
2012 Domaine Michel Gay et Fils Corton-Renardes Vieilles Vignes France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton Grand Cru
Tasting, brief note. Red berry and cherry with anise and fresh herbs in an elegant and accessible combination. Excellent 91-92 point potential here.

Flight 3 - Chablis with Prawns (1 note)

White
2009 Patrick Piuze Chablis Grand Cru Bougros Côte de Bouqueyreaux France, Burgundy, Chablis, Chablis Grand Cru
93 points
From magnum. Started out powerful and lush with lots of apple and baked apple, but transformed in 30 seconds to a leaner, classic Chablis with great mineral textures, while still powerful. Best now through 2019.

Flight 4 - Puligny with Raviolo (3 notes)

White
2007 Benoit Ente Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Champs-Gain France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru
flawed
Seemed very advanced or heat damaged.
White
2014 Benoit Ente Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Clos de la Truffière France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru
91 points
Open 2 hours before serving. Slightly reductive start, which mostly dissipated after 10-15 minutes in glass. Ripe orchard fruit with lots of minerality. Powerful finish. Better in another year or two.

2014 Benoit Ente Puligny-Montrachet France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet
90 points
Slightly floral, lots of orchard fruit. Overall wonderful balance with both a richness and textural elegance. Beautiful for its level.

Flight 5 - Perrot-Minot Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Vieilles Vignes Vertical (3 notes)

Red
2003 Domaine Perrot-Minot Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Vieilles Vignes France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru
93 points
Open 3 hours before serving. Served in 03/06/07 flight. Very ripe and fruit-centric but with spice galore. While this seems fat from all the fruit, there is clearly enough structure and balance for this to continue to age gracefully and evolve. My favorite of the flight, admittedly in a "guilty pleasure" sort of way. Group's favorite was the 2006.
Red
2006 Domaine Perrot-Minot Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Vieilles Vignes France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru
92 points
Open 3 hours before serving. In 03/06/07 flight. Black fruit with meaty notes. Less ripe vs many 2006s, very balanced, very good now. Group's favorite of the flight, but I preferred the flashier 2003.
Red
2007 Domaine Perrot-Minot Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Vieilles Vignes France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru
92 points
Open 3 hours before serving. In 03/06/07 flight. Nicely spiced start with both black and red cherry start-to-finish. Very good length, very good balance. Seemingly just entering its peak drinking window.

Flight 6 - Perrot-Minot 2003s (2 notes)

Red
2003 Domaine Perrot-Minot Mazoyères-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Mazoyères-Chambertin Grand Cru
93 points
Open 45 minutes before serving. Served alongside 2003 Charmes-Chambertin. Black and blue berries are ripe but balanced with dark chocolate, vanilla and baking spice. Perhaps slightly better than another bottle from a few weeks ago. Aging well. Better than the Charmes.
Red
2003 Domaine Perrot-Minot Charmes-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru
91 points
Open 45 minutes before serving alongside the Mazoyeres-Chambertin. Ripe black and red cherry with moderate spice. Less meaty or powerful vs Mazoyeres, but more elegant textures. Moderate weight and length. Very good now. I preferred the Mazoyeres, as did most others tonight.

Flight 7 - Perrot-Minot Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Les Perrières Mini Vertical (2 notes)

Red
2005 Domaine Perrot-Minot Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Les Perrières Vieilles Vignes France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
90 points
Open 3 hours before serving alongside the 2006 vintage. Black fruit with subtle spice. Very good now, slightly more foursquare vs the 2006.
Red
2006 Domaine Perrot-Minot Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Les Perrières Vieilles Vignes France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
91 points
Open 3 hours before serving alongside its 2005 counterpart. Ripe black fruit with moderate spice. Very tasty, very nicely balanced. I prefer this over the 2005 for now as well as for the cellar.
