Deep dark purple. The bouquet is a bit locked and shows bell pepper and leather. On the palate enormously concentrated, primary berry fruits, firm acidity and youthful tannin with a firm bite.

The darkest of the three first growths we had. And, in this stage, also the most elegant with soft and round dark berries and vanilla. Can easily last another 5+ years.

A lot of apricots, orange peel and honey. Enormous concentration: one drop fills the whole mouth. A lot of sweetness and also good acidity to back it up.

Both an enormous amount of sweetness and acidity. Concentrated/caramelized apricots. Very complex as well, but d'Yquem 1993 we had before this, is more refined.

A lot of everything in this wine: Loads of youthful dark and red berries, cherries, vanilla, bitterness. Good acidity and tannin. A firm amount of alcohol as well. This wine can probably last a few decades, but for this moment in 2006 the wine can use some more cellar time so everything can integrate a bit more. 96++

This is in fact a concentrated beauty in this off vintage. Juicy fruits, good acidity, some pleasant sweetness and soft, still sticky, powerful tannin. Good bitterness in the long finish.

Garnet red. Compact wine, multi layered, full bodied, red and black berries, beautifully dosed oak, beautiful balance between acidity and sweetness. Still a firm amount of powerful tannin. This wine combines finesse, complexity and power in a beautiful way. 95+
