Red
2002 Domaine Robert Groffier Bonnes Mares France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Bonnes Mares Grand Cru
95 points
Gorgeous, lifted primary almost jammy strawberry aromas, with spice. Terrific concentration of still-primary spice red cherry and strawberry fruit. Very good lift and structure, to match the rich fruit. Drinking nicely, but loads of upside.
Red
2010 Château Latour à Pomerol France, Bordeaux, Libournais, Pomerol
90 points
Big primary, rich toasty oak and mocha nose. Concentrated and dense. Lots of jammy fruit cloaking the structure. Needs a ribeye.
Red
2003 Bodegas Vega-Sicilia Ribera del Duero Único Spain, Castilla y León, Ribera del Duero
93 points
Big nose of rich red and black fruit, with smoked meat and smoked herb. Palate is rich and densely fruited but so lifted and bright. Toasty, rich finish. Young with a long way to go. Nothing roasted or '03 about this.
Red
2000 Château Pontet-Canet France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac
88 points
Modest nose of plum, cedar and spice. Palate has medium intensity. Good balance, if a little dull.

Red
2005 Domaine Ponsot Morey St. Denis 1er Cru Cuvée des Alouettes France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Morey St. Denis 1er Cru
91 points
Good earthy, almost funky, red and black cherry fruit aromas with underlying mushroom and spice. Juicy and fresh cherry fruit with moderate concentration and very good spice finish. Surpringly approachable and generous for an 05.
