Nice salinity, with some mild sweetness on the palate. Tons of acidity -- enough to pair with seafood. Slightly green on the palate as well. Not too complex, but easy to enjoy.

Best of the sercials today. Clearly a step up in terms of intensity and complexity here. Things here are more focussed, with more salinity and concentration. The acidity is obviously there, and is well delineated, but there's a better sense of roundedness as well, perhaps thanks to the age.

A small step up from the 10-year, showing much the same characteristics, but some caramel that adds richness to the palate. However, that sort of sweet richness is at the cost of the salinity here.

My favourite wine of the tasting -- this shows very much like terrantez with its copious amounts of spice on both the nose and palate. Plenty of acidity here as well as a hint of green. The age here also adds some rounded brown sugar and caramel notes. Delicious.

Fairly simple. A touch of sweetness here that gives this a slight waxiness. Plenty of acidity, perhaps a bit screechy.

Much more restrained than the somewhat loud 10-year version. The brown sugar lends a bit of roundness here that calms the acidity. A good dose of spiciness and caramel here, but far less complex than the 20-year terrantez.

A little underwhelming for what this should be. Lots of brown sugar and caramel, but surprisingly soft compared to the rest of the lineup. The sweetness and age provide complexity, but the structure here feels flabby and soft (for madeira).
