Merens siempre ofrece honestidad: una compleja nariz con hojas podridas de acacia flotando sobre agua estancada, tarta de peras con merengue, una nota de pegamento o medio banda azul, albaricoque y una base mineral. Delicioso. En boca es menos profundo aunque es abundante con densidad, una acide central y un rico amargor final que añade longitud. Hasta la última gota. Una añada que anticipa su madurez conforme a esta botella.

Hardly a Zalto glass from a whole bottle for that mania that some waiters have for getting drunk (and maybe even something else) during their service, ruining the evening. Different kind of Zalto glasses, mine for reds, indicates this restaurant can't replace them even.
Meanwhile aromas of tarte Tatin from a caramelised apple with cinnamon. Still young on the palate with grip, acidity and a remarkably structured and yet delicious and surprisingly ripened finish.

Apenas si una copa Zalto de una botella entera por esa manía que tienen algunos camareros de emborracharse (y quizás incluso algo más) durante su servicio, arruinando la velada. Ponen diferentes copas Zalto, a mí me tocó una para tintos, lo que indica que el restaurante ni siquiera los puede reemplazar.
Entretanto aromas a tarta Tatin con una manzana caramelizada con canela. En boca todavía joven con agarre, acidez y una remarcable estructura y aún así deliciosa y sorprendentemente madura.
Una lastima el contexto pero no hay problema. Con no volver, arreglado.

Still the same insubstantial, soft, easy and boring Ribeiro of yesteryear. Vintage does not add anything: neither freshness nor a sharp acidity.

Sigue siendo el mismo Ribeiro insustancial, suave, facilon y aburrido de antaño. La añada no aporta nada: ni frescura ni una puntiaguda acidez.

Typical Garnacha-Shiraz blend without a single hint of elegance. Lots of red fruit on the nose and sharp acidity that considerably increases its persistence. That's all.

Garnacha mezcla con Shiraz típica pero sin un solo atisbo de elegancia. Mucha fruta roja en nariz y una afilada acidez que aumenta considerablemente su persistencia. Poco más.

Continúa siendo un rosado que una vez eliminada la burbuja manifiesta una cierta justificación de su nombre pero sin elegancia ni finura. En seguida se transforma en un vino aburrido y demasiado ácido para mi gusto particular.

Un Rioja sencillo, fácilmente accesible y comprensible. Bayas rojas en nariz con un golpe láctico. Más recio al paladar con suaves taninos y algo de estructura y acidez.

Inicialmente pizarra en nariz que pocas a poco se transforma en algarroba dulce y notas balsámicas que a algunos les recordaba el eucalipto y a mí al café y al chocolate con leche.
En boca su acidez recuerda a su ya perdida juventud con una textura asedada. Todavía, en su estilo, un Jumilla reconocible y una razón para tumbar botellas con este origen.
