Introduction

Gang of 4 in Covid19 times
Just four persons in a very large living room.
We each brought a few bottles. The wines were poured blind.

Flight 1 (11 notes)

Red
2018 Pietro Caciorgna Etna Ciauria Italy, Sicily, Etna DOC
88 points
Primary berry fruits, some minerals. Good acidity. Pleasant wine.
Red
2018 Bodega El Porvenir de Cafayate Tannat Laborum de Parcela Block 5 Finca Río Seco Argentina, Valles Calchaquíes, Salta, Cafayate
88 points
Just a few short notes. Chocolate, dark berries, laurel and sweet spices. Ok acidity.
White
2015 Faiveley Chassagne-Montrachet France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet
92 points
White fruits, pleasant oak and good acidity. The wine is still much too young. 92+
Red
2018 Château Larcis Ducasse France, Bordeaux, Libournais, St. Émilion Grand Cru
95 points
Creamy dark berries and primary cherries in the bouquet. On the palate red berries, bell pepper, very juicy, vanilla, a good dose of oak firm and good acidity and tannin. Overall a beautiful, concentrated and juicy wine which is much too young now. Wait at least a decade. For now 94 – 96+

Red
2002 Carruades de Lafite France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac
91 points
Beautiful and creamy bouquet with butter and beautiful vanilla from the luxurious oak. On the palate red and dark berries, beautiful acidity, vanilla and still slightly sticky tannin. Mild bitterness, some bell pepper and slightly sticky tannin. Good length. Really nice to taste this wine again and the wine is still very much alive and not a bit too old yet. It can last at least another 3+ years.
Red
1985 La Dame de Montrose France, Bordeaux, Médoc, St. Estèphe
The bouquet is quite tertiary with mushrooms and forest floor impressions. Same on the palate, ok acidity, nuts and coffee. Ok acidity still. No score.
Red
1986 Château Branaire (Duluc-Ducru) France, Bordeaux, Médoc, St. Julien
Tertiary and very mature but still pleasant bouquet. On the palate mature as well. Mushrooms, nuts, coffee, autumn impressions, good acidity and the tannin is even still slightly sticky. At the end of its life, but still a pleasure. Drink very soon. No score for today.

Red
2003 Château Brown France, Bordeaux, Graves, Pessac-Léognan
91 points
Beautiful and very tempting bouquet with vanilla and berry fruits. On the palate juicy dark berries. Fully mature and at its peak with still a soft and pleasant bite. Really nice.
Red
2003 Clos Floridene France, Bordeaux, Graves
flawed
Corked unfortunately
Red
2010 Château La Fleur de Boüard France, Bordeaux, Libournais, Lalande de Pomerol
92 points
Beautifully ripe dark berry fruits in the bouquet. Licorice and a light, pleasant dose of vanilla as well. On the palate dark and red berries, licorice and beautiful acidity and round tannin with still a lovely bite. Beautiful wine and a great pleasure now and probably the next 2 - 3+ years.
Red
2000 Château Gressier Grand Poujeaux France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Moulis en Médoc
89 points
Vanilla and dark berries in the bouquet. On the palate some autumn impressions and red bell pepper. Firm acidity and the wine lacks some concentration and roundness.
