From a beautiful magnum and little could have started a celebration as well as this wine.
Bright , energetic, supremely elegant and with a round and balanced feel. The acids are bright but polished, the wine has a lovely rich texture and is simply delicious. An easy 95 and maybe a lot more.

Albeit we are prejudiced with natural/orange wines this came to rebuild some confidence in the style. From magnum too.
Soft oxidation, soft rich, well evolved and with good character. A very solid wine and an easy 90

Our last bottle in what has been an amazing run with this wine over the last 11 years and always rating 94-95.
Well evolved, leathery, earthy and a joy to people like us who love well aged claret with old school character. A truly great wine and great value and one we I’ll buy again on sight from a trusted cellar. 94 easy

2012 E. Guigal Côte-Rôtie Château d'Ampuis France, Rhône, Northern Rhône, Côte-Rôtie

From magnum and decanted for a good couple of hours.
An arbitrage of quality and price vintage in vintage out and this 2012 proves once again how great it is drinking now.
Soft smoky , just about entering secondary, Round , smooth on the edges, well made and with a lovely balance. Smooth already and well within its drinking window and with a lot of life ahead. Very very good

Another great show here and this is a world class dessert wine.
Effortless beauty, balanced , lots of depth of flavour. The rustic side from years past has given way to a lot more balance and elegance . Brilliant wines and another testament to great wine making of Santorini. 94

White - Sweet/Dessert
2006 Château Suduiraut France, Bordeaux, Sauternais, Sauternes
92 points
Golden bright and still on the youthful side of Sauternes and really bright and delicious.
Soft honey, light waxy palate, soft sweet lemon, apricots and just drinks seamlessly. Great and always come back from trying these wines asking “ why are we not drinking more of them?” Easy 92-93
