White - Sparkling
1996 Veuve Clicquot Champagne Brut La Grande Dame France, Champagne
92 points
*** brief notes for my memory, no detailed tasting notes. Wines tasted blind if not noted otherwise ***
Clear, amber color. Very ripe, a bit oxidized nose with some mellow apple. Very advanced and mature. On the palate more fresh. Fine mousseux, good acidity, tertiary notes, very vinous, pressure, nice length. This bottle had no potential for further ageing.

Clear, amber-pink color. Very ripe, oxidative nose, ripe apple, bread crust. Very little mousseux, very nice balance of sweetness and acidity, tertiary notes, good balanced, round, nice length. Still nice to drink but past peak. 89-90
White - Sparkling
2002 Ruinart Champagne Dom Ruinart Blanc de Blancs France, Champagne
93 points
*** brief notes for my memory, no detailed tasting notes. Wines tasted blind if not noted otherwise ***
Clear, pale youthful golden color. Youthful, fresh, salty nose, with green apple and autolytic notes. On the palate very precise, lots of salty mineral notes, lots of apple, good energy and tension. Creamy mouthfeel. Beautiful length. Seems very young to me and not on its full peak. Give it a few more years to fully shine. 93+

White
1995 Trimbach Riesling Clos Ste. Hune France, Alsace
95 points
*** brief notes for my memory, no detailed tasting notes. Wines tasted blind if not noted otherwise ***
Perfect bottle. Popped and poured. Clear, medium golden color. Wonderful complex and intense nose, fresh, salty, herbaceous, dense and deep. No signs of petrol that I often feel in aged Trimbach wines.
First sip after opening was a bit unbalanced, but it simply needed time and air. Wonderful mineral core, lots of ripe, yellow stone fruit, racy, ripe and perfectly integrated acidity. Very complex, very good balance, elegance and tension. Finish was a bit short on the first sight, but it was just very fine and delicate and stayed very long on the palate. Drink now, it will not get any better, but will for sure stay on this level for at least 5+ years. 94-95

White
1997 Jordan and Jordan Scharzhofberger Riesling Auslese trocken Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer
90 points
*** brief notes for my memory, no detailed tasting notes. Wines tasted blind if not noted otherwise ***
Clear, medium golden color. Nose a bit muted with some spontaneous fermentation notes. On the palate really dry and very mineral. Never guessed Saar! Needs air and felt still a bit locked. Nevertheless a beautiful experience with enough life left for some more years. 89-90

Red
2018 Château Laroque St. Émilion Grand Cru France, Bordeaux, Libournais, St. Émilion Grand Cru
88 points
*** brief notes for my memory, no detailed tasting notes. Wines tasted blind if not noted otherwise ***
Clear, deep ruby-purple color. Clean nose with lots of red fruit, a bit cooked, some lactic notes. On the palate very young. Some bitter notes, creamy, quite hot. At this stage early it makes no fun for me at all. No sexy fruit juice, just some locked, tight tannic fruit cocktail. Probably in 10+ years when it comes out of its shell? 88+

Red
1983 Château Lafite Rothschild France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac
91 points
*** brief notes for my memory, no detailed tasting notes. Wines tasted blind if not noted otherwise ***
Decanted a few hours before. Clear, deep tawny-garnet color. Clean, deep, fine, elegant nose of an aged BDX with fine tobacco and leather, but also some harsh green notes.
On the palate very elegant, good balance, elegant, rather feminine. Some green pepper, hints of red fruit. Good acidity. Lacks a bit of complexity and pressure on the palate. Drink now. 90-91
I was so surprised to see, what it was. Thanks’ to the noble donor!

Clear, deep ruby color. Clean, youthful-developing nose with some raw meat, smoke and ripe fruit. Very dense and deep.
On the palate some extract sweetness, beautiful acidity, wonderful fruit, beautiful balance and quite elegant. Very precise and long. Drinks beautifully now, but has good potential for further ageing. 93+
So surprised to see what it was! Would never dared to open a bottle that young, but this bottle makes already a lot of fun. Thanks Mr. Barbera!

Red
1959 C.V.N.E. (Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España) Rioja Viña Real Reserva Especial Spain, La Rioja, La Rioja Alta, Rioja
94 points
*** brief notes for my memory, no detailed tasting notes. Wines tasted blind if not noted otherwise ***
A bit hazy, tawny color. Beautiful nose of aged Rioja: Spicy, herbaceous, hints of leather and tobacco, dense and complex.
On the palate you notice, that is certainly past its prime, but still a wonderful wine, aged in dignity. Acidity is still wonderful integrated and makes it quite juicy. Some blood, meat, fine tobacco, herbs and other tertiary notes. Very elegant and balanced body, good length. Wonderful experience that actually can’t be rated in points. Thank you Oliver! 93-94

Clear, deep purple color. Clean nose with some cooked fruit, violets, oak, herbs. Young and dense!
On the palate also very concentrated, spicy and creamy. Fruity, violets, a bit hot with 14,5% abv, good length. Certainly a serious wine and with great potential. In the current stage it makes absolute no fun for me. 92++

White - Off-dry
1997 Willi Schaefer Graacher Domprobst Riesling Spätlese #10 Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer
91 points
*** brief notes for my memory, no detailed tasting notes. Wines tasted blind if not noted otherwise ***
Perfect bottle and color. Not much more to add to my note from 2019. Beautiful Spätlese, probably a few years past its very peak. Only problem is the high and a bit sharp acidity. Otherwise with the Schaefer typical balance and harmony. 91-92. Drink now – 5 years.
