The nose had a lot going on. Licorice, celery, cucumber, forest floor, blackberry, and chocolate covered cherries. The palate was soft, and had earth, brussels sprout, asparagus, chocolate, and a black currant finish.
Red
2005 Château La Prade
92 points
This wine was fabulous. It had the vegetal component that I love so much - lettuce and carrots - mixed with raspberry, plum and some earth. The palate was very soft and had dark chocolate, celery, brussels sprout, raspberry and a dirt finish.
Red
2005 Château Monbrison
90 points
A very nice nose of raspberry, coffee, blackberry, and vanilla. The palate was soft and had raspberry, blackberry, mocha, and a finish of toasted oak.
Red
2005 Château Bellisle Mondotte
90 points
The nose had lots of black fruit - black raspberry and black plum. It also had quite a bit of oak, some licorice, and a little earth at the end. The palate was very tannic with loamy earth and black fruit, and finished with oak and licorice.
Red
2005 Château de Rouillac

This wine was not very interesting, but it was pretty good. The nose had raspberry, toasted vanilla, and a little earth. The palate was very tannic with vanilla, raspberry, and spice.

This was a fantastic wine. The nose had toast, peach, vanilla, and some nuts at the end. The palate had lots of peach, some hazelnut, and finished with toast.

The nose had a nice perfume smell, plus cassis, melted chocolate, cedar box, and a bit of spice. The palate was fat, with cassis, cedar, raspberry, and a spicy finish.
