Missed the back label info on this one, but I think it's a recent release. Very sappy and intense, especially for a wine that shows so much acidity. Overall good concentration, with a mix of both cooked and raw apple notes. This feels a little imbalanced to me with the relatively heavy weight and the lean acids.

I always feel like that I should like Timorasso more than I actually do. This had an intense, phenolic note that I couldn't get past, especially with a slight bitterness on the finish, but otherwise I did like the riper, rounded fruit and moderate oily texture.

Truth be told, a pretty challenging wine for me. The nose shows lots of menthol (with a slight Mayacamas hat-tip), and not too much fruit; it's pretty aromatic though. The palate is where I find the difficulty; this is very gamey with a bit too much funk and not enough fruit to clear away all those weird nodes. Slightly thin with high acids as well; I could definitely see this wine being quite compelling in certain vintages, but this bottle didn't do it for me.

Wow, that's some serious bottle variation from the last time I had it. This bottle is clean, with nary a hint of brett, and features a generous amount of red (surprisingly, given the vintage) fruit coupled with intense saline and meat notes that don't show up until this wine has been exposed to a good amount of air. Very elegant and light, especially in the context of syrah, but impressive complexity here. A very nice bottle that reaffirms my love of Sorrel. One of the very few Hermitage producers worth a damn.
