White
2014 Domaine Michel Niellon Bâtard-Montrachet France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru

Alongside the Chevalier, both great, this Bâtard just greater, richer and with an intense old vine concentration. Great already now.
White
2014 Domaine Michel Niellon Chevalier-Montrachet France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru
Alongside the Bâtard, both were great, but this Chevalier just one small step behind. Alluring aromas are spiced and floral, palate powerful and elegant. Some possible upside, but so good now.
White
2010 Louis Jadot Chevalier-Montrachet Les Demoiselles Domaine des Héritiers Louis Jadot France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru
93 points
Rich and intense orchard fruit, wonderfully spiced with a nearly unctuous texture. More mature than I’d consider ideal at this age, but there is so much here that it remains incredibly interesting.
Red
1978 Marcarini Barolo Brunate Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo
93 points
Opened and decanted an hour+ before serving, then enjoyed over several hours. Lots of mostly mature red and black cherry with dried autumn flowers, braised meat, leather, and tar. Good when first served, this kept harmonizing further with more time in glass, while also getting longer and more finessed.
Red
2004 Bruno Giacosa Barbaresco Rabajà Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barbaresco
93 points
Opened a couple of hours before serving, but not decanted. Very floral with fresh and dried cherry throughout, very good depth and length. Only negative was slight drying on the finish.

Red
2011 Bruno Giacosa Barbaresco Riserva Asili Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barbaresco

Opened several hours ahead, with one hour in a decanter. Red cherry, some berry with a complex spicebox. Less power vs the 2004 white label in the next glass, but more balance and precision. Great right now.
