Introduction

Just a little get together with M & B to do a little conniving, wait I mean planning for a next year's IPNC. I think we had a most successful session. Further meetings may be required.

White - Sparkling
2008 Champagne Pierre Legras Champagne Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs "Idée de Voyage" France, Champagne, Champagne Grand Cru
93 points
Light gold color. Drank 2 glasses over 90 minutes. Second time with this wine and first in about 17 months. Showing very well, in fact good to go. The nose is fresh and bright with green apple, sea air, light tropical fruit, modest dough notes and cream filled pastry. The palate is focused and crisp, the green orchard fruit carries through, balanced by a vein of clean stony minerality with subtle chalk nuances. Very good and perfect as a aperitif wine.
White - Sparkling
2008 Pierre Gimonnet & Fils Champagne Special Club Millesimé de Collection France, Champagne

Light gold color. Drank a couple glasses over 90 minutes plus. It's been 14 months since the last bottle. There'd been a run a few years back. Every bit as good as it has been now. This still is quite consistent with my previous notes. Green apple, apple peel, ginger, panna cotta texture, lemon peel, lots of chalk driven minerality which gives this more weight and demands food. 92+ to 93pts.

Red
2011 Big Table Farm Pinot Noir Cattrall Brothers Vineyard USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Eola - Amity Hills
93 points
Mildy cloudy light medium bricked red color with a 3mm clear edge. PNP, drank a couple glasses over 90 minutes. Bellissimo's bottle. Man I love these color vintages from the WV. This was really in a good place; earth and dried strawberries on the nose, with dried rose petals, and raspberry. The palate is tart and crisp with lovely berries, tart cherry, ground tobacco, and fine tannins on a lighter medium body frame with a long finish. Right in my wheelhouse stylistically.
Red
2013 Le Cadeau Pinot Noir Equinoxe Reserve USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley
94 points
Medium transparent ruby color. PNP, drank couple glasses over 90 minutes. Drank this next to a stellar '11 BTF Cattrall Bros Vineyard. So another cool vintage and the first bottle of this I've cracked. Wow, blazing off the bat. Really aromatic on the nose, so earthy with mushrooms and truffle notes, black raspberry, strawberry-rhubarb, leather and pretty Asian spice box. The palate has serious depth, medium bodied, deep red and black fruits, sappy, leather, a touch of funk, and gorgeous spice notes with round, polished tannins. Way to go Tom, this fabulous! 93+ to 94pts.

White - Sweet/Dessert
2007 Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey France, Bordeaux, Sauternais, Sauternes
92 points
Deep gold color. From 375ml. Drank a small glass over 30 minutes. Didn't think to much about this. It went down quickly and paired nicely with an apple galette. Brown sugar and spice, baked apple, tangerine, peach, crisp. 92+ to 93pts.
