Less graceful vs previous bottles with good weight and complexity, but I've never found this wine to be as harmonious vs other vintages, so it's never thrilled me. But tonight's was less exciting.

In '96 Grand Cru flight. Opened approx 30 minutes before serving, more air would have helped. This started slightly musty and awkward. This certainly put on weight in glass, as well as cleaned up nicely. Still never got to the full harmony I hoped for, but it is still young for this producer in this kind of vintage.

In '96 Grand Cru flight. Opened approx 30 minutes before serving. Rich and ripe black fruity, very bold and meaty with impressive concentration. Still ever-so-slightly backward and ever-so-slightly oaky, but lots of fun in this glass.

A great wine that is still in its infancy. Ultra firm with dense, meaty and powerful black plum, currant well spiced with liqueur hints. A powerhouse that wis so good now, but will be great 2030-2056.
