White - Sparkling
2015 Juillet-Lallement Champagne Grand Cru Special Club
90 points
Walk around tasting. Bright and lean with enough ripe fruit. Fun and very good now with a finessed, long-ish finish.
White - Sparkling
2018 Marc Hébrart Champagne Premier Cru Special Club
89 points
Walk around tasting. Also fun and easy, this is rounder and softer than the Juillet-Lallement. Well balanced makes it easy to enjoy already now.
White
2018 Chêne Bleu Aliot
Walk around tasting. Rich and heavy in the style of Rhone whites, but I wanted more supporting energy.
White
2021 Domaine Laroche Chablis Vieille Voye
88 points
Walk around tasting. Good depth for its level with equally good richness. Finishes with mineral flourish that is also slightly bitter right now, but I like this when it likely softens, 2025 forward.
White
2021 Jean-Philippe Fichet Bourgogne Côte d'Or Blanc
86 points
Walk around tasting. Simple while pleasant aromas and flavors for young enjoyment. Good enough depth for its level.
White
2021 Domaine du Roc des Boutires Pouilly-Fuissé
88 points
Walk around tasting. Reasonably rich orchard fruit with good depth and balance. Good now, very good value wine.
White
2021 Domaine Leflaive Pouilly-Fuissé
88 points
Walk around tasting. Slightly reductive but accessible. Good combination of lean and rich with good length. Better to cellar another year or so, but this will drink well young.
Red
2020 Domaine Pierre Guillemot Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Aux Gravains
90 points
Walk around tasting. Spiced red cherry, already well balanced and accessible with sneaky good length.
Red
2021 Faiveley Mercurey 1er Cru Clos des Myglands
90 points
Walk around tasting. Very fun already now. Red cherry and berry throughout, faintly spiced. Fun start seems a bit simple, then more in the middle.

Red
2021 A. et P. de Villaine Bourgogne
86 points
Walk around tasting. Red cherry on nose and palate. Good enough depth, but slightly tart right now.
Red
2021 Faiveley Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes
87 points
Walk around tasting. More black vs red cherry with firm structure, especially in the middle right now, so not particularly forthcoming. Better 2026-.

Red
2018 Laurent Ponsot Chambolle-Musigny Cuvée de la Violette
90 points
Walk around tasting. Pure red and black cheery, nicely spiced and elegantly mineral textures. Well balanced and forward for the 2018 vintage with very good length for its level.
Red
2018 Domaine Henri Rebourseau Clos Vougeot
91 points
Walk around tasting. Also surprisingly accessible for an '18, with the depth and power I expected. Nearly balanced already with an expanding finish. 91+ point potential from 2026-.
Red
2020 Giacomo Conterno Barbera d'Alba Vigna Francia
Walk around tasting. Reduction made this to fairly assess, but there is a lot of pure black cherry here with impressive weight for young Barbera, so I am optimistic.

Red
2019 Penfolds Bin 600 California
87 points
Walk around tasting. Fun and balanced, but on the simple side. Good now.
Red
2019 Darioush Cabernet Franc
Walk around tasting. Rich, black, and meaty, very Napa with a slightly warm finish.
Red
2020 Ca' Marcanda (Gaja) Bolgheri Camarcanda
Walk around tasting. Wonderfully rich with red and black cherry and very good depth, all while nicely balanced already. Silky, long finish. Very good potential.
Red
2019 Continuum Proprietary Red
Very big. Ultra rich, modern, oaky, warm on finish. A style of wine I can appreciate others like, but is not to my taste.
Flight 2 (3 notes)
White
2015 Kumeu River Chardonnay Coddington
A few bonus bottles post-tasting. Losing steam as its freshness fades. Still hanging in there.
White
2013 Domaine Leroy Bourgogne-Aligoté
88 points
A few bonus bottles post-tasting. Lean lemon and green apple with some lean, grassy notes characteristic of Aligoté from this lean vintage. Good length, nicely bright.
Red
2009 Comte Armand Pommard 1er Cru Clos des Epeneaux
93 points
A few bonus bottles post-tasting. Great nose. Spiced black and red cherry are very rich with a firm mid-palate for now, Very good length. This needed lots more air, certainly better from 2029- even better yet from 2034-.
