Introduction
Advivum in Slovansky Dum is the wine bar showing the import offerings of the namesake importer. Advivum's portoflio contains some lesser known but delicious gems from Burgundy and Rioja (not tasted here).
Flight 1 (1 note)
Light gold. Nose of lychee and gummy bears / flavored wine gum, along with a bit of reductive funk. On the palate, this is fresh, citrusy and crispy if a little thin. Finished on a sour pinepaple crisp. Plenty of simplicity here but beauty lives elsewhere. 89 points

People who know their ancestry know themselves. This seems like a wine that does not know its climate, its grape or its soil. It could be any other well made generic white in the world and I wouldn’t know the difference. It’s not much more than a product of production. 88 points
Flight 3 (1 note)
I’m by no means experienced in Riojas but this one seems to be a bargain and a great among the entry level contestants. It is made of Garnacha, not Tempranillo.
Quite similar to an herbal and earthy Pinot, this adds blackcurrants, cream, spice and warmth. It is relatively full and concentrated, yet well rounded already and smooth in tannins.
Aside from a dour finish in blackcurrant, neither fruit nor complexity particularly stand out - this is more about structure. Parker attributes the strength and structure to this particular vintage. 92 points

Closing
As an avid collector, I will continue to buy from Advivum.
Unlike a more serious kind of wine bar, Advivum's focus is on easier-to-drink wines. They also offer bottles that you can dwell over for hours, but that's usually not by glass. The result is a wine portfolio dominated by price-to-quality considerations, with the more individualistic offerings topping out the price range.
But apart from Ms. Racova and her coworkers, my favourite part about this place is the choice of music.
