Rosé - Sparkling
2018 Weingut Keller Rosé Prestige Brut Nature Germany, Rheinhessen
93 points
The Rosé is based on 95% Chardonnay from Zellerweg am Schwarzen Herrgott and 5% Spätburgunder (added as red wine) from Bürgel. Only 1 barrel made with zero dosage. . Just released and ultra-rare: bottle no. 90 from 200 produced. A blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier, disgorged March 2023. Pale salmon colour, pin-prick bubbles; complex nose, griotte, spices, flowers, peach, jasmine, saffron, whiff of tobacco, fresh and minerally; dry and chalky palate, energetic and bright but not austere, steely acidity and good fruit, appetising bitters; excellent resonance and length. An impressive debut.

Note: this is not a Spätburgunder Sekt as recorded elsewhere on CT. That listing is incorrect.
White - Fortified
N.V. Gonzalez-Byass Jerez-Xérès-Sherry Tio Pepe Fino 'En Rama' 2022 Spain, Andalucía, Jerez-Xérès-Sherry
93 points
Magnum. Bottled 22 March 2022. Pale golden colour, cloudy. Marvellous marriage of intensity, finesse and elegance; flowers and yeast and brine, green olive, steely and silky; aniseed on the finish, very good length.
Red

A elizabeth 2020. Silk and cream, roses and spices, red cherries, orange zest, hint of reduction, gentle but firm tannins, elegant weight and style, convincing finish. Excellent Dolcetto.
