Confrerie Burgundy Trip – Day 3
Chassagne-Montrachet /Vosne-Romanee
Tasted November 12, 2009 by MFong with 960 views
Introduction
For one week, cumulating at the Trois Glorieuses, we committed ourselves to uncovering vinous and epicurean pleasures in the villages of Burgundy.
All 2009s were tasted before malo. Most 2008s were tasted out of barrels, malo completed.
Flight 1 - Domaine Blain Gagnard (12 notes)
Perhaps reflecting Jean-Marc’s Sancerre origins, these wines are deliciously balanced with pure minerals and clean fruit.

Flight 5 - Domaine d'Eugenie (5 notes)
Work in progress. From the current clutter of exposed wires and unfinished floors as the domaine in its fourth vintage settles into new and modern facilities in Vosne-Romanee, to the winemaker’s hesitance in expressing the style of his wines. With up to 80% new oak, these are modern and brash wines; and one feels, this domaine is still in the process of finding its own identity.
