Heavy oak spice. Too much for my liking. But nice dark fruit underneath and a soft, silky texture. I will let my second bottle rest for another few years and hope that the wood spices recede a bit.

The nose is wonderful - so floral and beautiful. The wine is delicious as well - there are nice tannins and a nice persistency. But it's a hair on the thin side for my preference. Still, it was a wonderful wine.

Definitely on the back nine but soft subtle flavors with fine grained tannins. A little smoke with leather and vanilla. A nice wine for a winter's evening with someone who realizes you are getting old but still appreciates your finer points. Bravo the old guys!

Bought on release. My last bottle. Popped and poured at the Jets opener. Just catching up on notes. Has developed extremely well. very meaty, red fruit, dark cherry, earthy and herbal. I do not know whether cellaring this myself was a good "investment" but at least I knew the provenance and was very happy with the result.

1/7/18, 3:47 PM - I bought this on release also. Just opened 2d to last bottle on 1/7/18 and still going strong. Great value...
