This wine was very dark and nearly opaque, oaky, extracted, and a touch hot until day 2, when it mellowed out a little...pretty much the opposite of what I'm looking for in a Pinot. I would have guessed Grenache or Syrah blind. SO glad I picked up a bottle to try before throwing down on more while on special. Dodged a bullet there. I would say paired with beef or hearty pasta would be the way to go with this one.
