Light gold color. A very good wine, very mineral, with an extremely long finish...

Opened for Christmas 2011. Level at mid shoulder. Top of the cork was completely black and when pulling it out, it spread in 2 pieces. Despite being 90 years in the bottle, the nose is alive with notes of apricot and citrus, while the palate suffered more from this long ageing with mainly acidity and no more sweetness !
White - Sweet/Dessert
1995 Château de Rayne-Vigneau Sauternes Sémillon-Sauvignon Blanc Blend (view label images)

From magnum, alcoholic nose and too much acidity on the palate.

Here i am, opening a bottle from 1937, this is not usual (for me) and i am really curious to see how a very old sweet white wine taste like..
First the color, dark amber. On the nose, the wine shows concentrate notes of honey, candied fruit and citrus, this is stunning ! How all those notes have been preserve so well ! the palate, let's see the palate, still the honey along with peach, there is still some sweetness without the power of young wines. What a remarkable experience, first for the emotion to open this old bottle and to have still such pleasure...

First experience with Brane Cantenac, and wowh this is 1959! So far the oldest red wine "given" to me to taste. So much has been said about this vintage. At the opening the cork completely spread out. The wine shows a clear orange color. On the nose and on the palate, nothing to say...the wine has definitely past its prime!

Tasted last February. Light amber color, not that much complexity on the nose and no length on the palate. Far from what an old Sauternes can show but this is 1973, bad year for bordeaux due to heavy rains right during the harvest...

First time drinking La tour Blanche, when opening the bottle, we discovered that the wine was reconditioned at the estate in 2006. Even if 1969 is not known to be a good year, i really enjoy old Sauternes and the typical candied fruits notes. Enjoyable wine.

Have tasted 2 times this vintage early this year (2010), the first time in February, i was really impressed to find fruit on this old vintage, the wine was very good. I couldn't wait and one month later i opened my second bottle and enjoyed it with my friends. The bottle was as good as the first one.For sure this wine will be still enjoyable for few years. I wish i could have some more.
