Red
2003 Château Cos d'Estournel St. Estèphe Red Bordeaux Blend
closed. Most of the reviews state that it is ready but could wait. The minority felt that it shouldn't be touched until the 2020s. I have joined the minority. Never opened with over an hour in the decanter but I detect good underlying structure. A little nose developed but can't say much else. Will try again in 2020.

2/16/16, 6:39 AM - Thanks Jeff. Saw the past comments, just was in a time crunch. Very excited to taste it over the next few days. Will add an update note.

Red
2013 Leonetti Cellar Merlot Walla Walla Valley

Tasted at release. beautifully dark, nose of dark fruits, medium to full body, lots of tannins, moderately complex, some savory notes, long finish. This one will last for years. Beautiful merlot.

6/6/15, 12:32 AM - I think all WA cult wines are overpriced, but still delicious, except for Cayuse who is slowly raising their prices (but auction prices immediately jump 2 - 3 times the release price.

Red
2007 Cayuse Syrah Armada Vineyard Walla Walla Valley

For me, the Armada is usually the most savory of the Cayuse Syrahs, but this was initially a massive wall of red and black fruit with the veggies, steak juice, ash, and herbs in the background. No complaints as the wine helped wash down a tenderloin nicely. After some air, the fruit and the savory aspects jumped in the front seat together and we all enjoyed the long drive home.
