3/26/22, 11:33 AM - Thats usually the question with bottles like this one. This was acquired from a highly regarded cellar via auction in 1997. Was a bottom of neck fill at that time. I only buy from cellars that have all to their offered wines with neck fills. Had one a few years ago that was acquired with this one but it was classic 82 Lafite. The cork was soaked though there had been zero leakage and the cork was firmly locked into the neck. Could be the original owner sold a number if bottles from different cases/sources. Very sad. Of the thousands of bottles I have opened, I guess that no more than 1% are off, corked or flawed.
3/8/22, 8:30 PM - Just enjoyed my last 97 tonight. Agree with all of your comments. Wish I fad a couple more. I loved it on release and bought two cases. Thanks!
