2015 La Rioja Alta Rioja 904 Gran Reserva 'Selección Especial' Tempranillo Blend, Tempranillo

Clear medium garnet color.

In the nose clean, with pronounced aromas of red plums, baked plums, black cherry, vanilla, coconut, dill and earth. The wine is fully developed.

On the palate again pronounced intensity, with baked plums, vanilla, cedar, chocolate, ripe cherry. The wine is dry, med (+) acidity, med (+) tannins, high alcohol, med (+) body and long finish.

This is an outstanding old school Rioja. Even better integrated on the next day. Ready to drink now and will hold for quite some time, but I doubt it will get much better.

Would buy again, good value for money.

5/16/24, 10:59 AM - Thanks for your comment, Sotto325! The primary flavors are almost completely gone, hence I would drink it now. However, the fact that the wine was even better the next day could indeed indicate additional potential.
Will keep your advice in mind and keep a couple of bottles for some more years!
