Well I dont know the producer but I've read something about an impressive CV and I was curious to try it. it puzzles me how to begin...The nose is oxidised (not oxidative) lacking any kind of freshness. It actually stinks making you wonder how a 2 year wine can be so bad. Can it get worse? You guessed it...Yeap On palate it is unbalanced lacking acidity for the fullness and high alcohol of the wine. Disjointed with bad quality fruit. Tasted the wine again to exclude any possibility of a lesser bottle. Crap again! This cant be anything else trhan bad quality fruit and bad-winemaking. Beware Santorini fans for this masterpiece is exported... Too bad for Santorini image!!!

Brick-garnet colour with a very seductive nose expressive of roses, earth, red cherries and a soft touch of oak. Elegant on palate needing more time to reveal all the complexity the wine may offer. Great structure and finesse. Very long

Vegetal, smoky, tobacco and mocca on the nose around a core of fresh red fruit. Savoury with rustic and dusty tannins that need time to soften. Taut at this moment but with good potential.

A barrel sample. Very different and riper compared to 2008 leaning to a more international style. Black and red cherries along violets and noble meat. Evident oak. Velvety with slightly warm alcohol and very sophisticated fine-grained tannins that build towards the finish. Very fluid but still with huge extract. Not sure how it will develop (92-94)

What's not to like in this Chardonnay? Expressive with pears, hazelnuts, creamy oak and herbs. Creamy but vibrant with impresive natural acidity that lifts fruit intensity. Very long multi-layered Chardonnay. Produced at between 3.000-6.000 bottles.

Fully developed or possibly past its best nose with earth, mushrooms and red fruit on the background. Silky on palate with overripe fruit lacking freshness. Still an interesting 100% Nebbiolo example from Gattinara.

Compared to the Dolcetto from the same vintage this wine has deeper colour followed by a riper and more concentrated nose of black fruits and sweet spice. Supple and juicy on palate with fresh acidity and soft tannins. Generous alcohol of 14.5% is evident and bites, leading to a not particularly long finsh.

Very complex and forward nose for such a young wine with tar, leather, flowers along red cherries and judicious oak. Savoury and refined on palate with bright acidity and very aristocratic tannins cutting through a generous but well integrated 15% abv. Firm and young with great ageing potential. A very sophisticated wine.

Opaque ruby with narrow granet rim. Developing nose with cassis, cedar, hints of vegetality and well integrated new oak. Quite clean with no brett influence. Elegant on palate despite 14% abv, with velvety tannins and bright acidity. Not so spicy as Pauillac and less austere than St Estephe this is a good value Pessac. Lacks great complexity or long finish but offers a lot of pleasure even from now. Could improve over the next 3-4 years.

This is a terroir driven-wine combining finesse and oppulence with a slight feminine side due to American oak use. Fruit is developed still offers some freshness. Dried cherries and strawberries along sweet oak and spicy elements. Meat and leather contribute to complexity. Vivid on palate with depth of fruit, vibrant acidity and dense structure. Polished with long finish. Very enjoyable now but has plenty of life ahead.

Garnet with a tawny rim. Nose is fully developed with meat, leather, warm spice over ripe red fruit like stawberry and cherries. Soft on palate with surprisingly high acidity that lifts palate to a fairly long finish. Aged in french oak that has given a moderately tannic structure with tannins building towards the finish. Delicious and enjoyable.
