Tasted at the winery, liked well enough to purchase a couple of bottles. It's not an oak/butter bomb, quite the opposite. Nice concentration, good acidity. Paired nicely with black cod and grilled vegetables.

The label doesn’t indicate which varietals are present in the wine, but it drinks like a Rhône blend. Nice fruit, well balanced, my wife and I drank the bottle over a couple of nights with dinner and after, and it was good for both situations.

I admit it, I’m a total fanboi of Secret Squirrel. I’ve purchased many Cabs and Rhône blends under this label that I just love. The fruit is always nicely extracted, there’s good balance, and moderate acidity. Never a one act play. This bottle was no exception.

This wine deserves a good review, but it’s been a few days since I had a glass before my wife polished it off so lacking in substance it shall be (the note, not the wine). This is a fantastic wine. It has that lip-smacking characteristic that some Rosés do, which I just love. My local gem of a wine store still has it stock so I’m buying more. So good.

Saw this value-priced Hendry Zinfandel at my wine store so decided to give it a try. I’m a big fan of Hendry’s block designate Zins, and was hoping this would be a nice economical bottle. I wasn’t disappointed, although I will say I felt a couple of times that it could have been a different varietal. It wasn’t one dimensional, but unsurprisingly it didn’t have the depth of its siblings.

The first of several bottles I brought to my nephew's to enjoy during Thanksgiving week. It's drinking very nicely now. We drank this while preparing dinner but with its nice core acidity, it would have been even better with the meal.

This is drinking very nicely. If I had any remaining bottles I'd reconsider the 2023 end date per CT. Pretty classic WA GSM profile, with the juicy component from the Grenache (in balance) that I enjoy.

Blackberry and raspberry, zippy acidity, soft tannins. Better the second day.

I don't have a clue about the abysmal ratings for this wine, but I feel confident that the bottle I opened is very different from what others have. It's drinking just fine IMO, but no reason to hold.

A very nice dry red wine. I concur with a tasting note I saw calling out marionberry, and there's a nice streak of minerality, and good acidity.

Another bottle I didn't open quite as soon as I should have (yes, I know about the drinkability report). But it's in better shape than I might have imagined. Nothing disjointed, fruit is still decent. But if I had more than this one bottle left, I'd be moving through them in short order.

Per CT and my own drink dates, this bottle was long past due for opening. I'm happy to say that I couldn't have been more wrong! Even three days open it was drinking nicely. Still had nice balance, good blackberry fruit, soft tannins and good acidity.

Took me a while to open my first bottle. Per CT the drinking window was suspiciously short, and having now popped one open that's confirmed. It drank wonderfully, even after two days open. Mulberry, cacao, brown sugar, with medium acidity providing good lift. Nice dusty tannins. An amazing value.

I've decided the main fruit I detect is raspberry with a bit of blueberry. There's a core acidity that is striking in this wine, it starts early and really ramps up into the mid palate. A bit of leather, with nice soft black tea tannins. This is a food wine, and as I'm writing this note on the second night open on its own, the acidity is a bit overpowering. But it would pair nicely with a good sausage or barbecue.

This bottle drank very well, paired with a nice Spanish meal consisting of a chickpea stew and patatas bravas. But it's at or just past peak, recommend enjoying sooner rather than later.

Very enjoyable. Has something I have not found a good description for yet, something yeasty from fresh baked bread perhaps. I find it in Washington wines much more often than California, and really enjoy wines with that characteristic.

This is one of those interesting cases of experiencing a wine differently than most people. It has an odd combination of berry flavors that I don't enjoy, a mix of blueberry and mulberry. On top of that, I find it quite harsh, with very coarse tannins. I didn't even finish the bottle which is rare indeed.

Still drinking very nicely. Cork on this one was starting to go but the wine is fine. Maybe a little funky upon first pour but that blew off quickly enough.
