An open and forward Chaupin. The perfume jumped from the glass...and kept on jumping. Offering all the classic markers of great CdP...and then some. Lush, bordering on transcendent, with plush tannin coating the palate. At once 'sweet' and savory, floral and meaty...ethereal yet deep.

While in a more feminine style, in my experience, this runs neck and neck with the same vintage VV. Indeed, it is difficult to understand the scoring difference between the two here in CT. It might not be as long-lived as the VV, though not by a great margin.

I found no reason not to enjoy bottles now, after a two to four hour decant, the wine will certainly gain complexity over time, and time it has to burn. Likely to enthrall in seven to ten years.

1/22/21, 6:44 PM - thanks, sorry for the crossover from CT to Connecticut. I will pursue through local sources in MA. Cheers
