The finest California Cab I have ever tasted. Tremendous dark fruit with a mere hint of camphor on the front end, followed by luscious, mouth-coating tannins in the mid palate. The finish was simply unreal. I will not soon forget this wine.

Chewy, savory, excellent fruit. A little hot on the finish but that will dissipate over time. In three years this will be a mid-to-high 90s wine.

Very well integrated- chewy rather than fruit-forward. Very nice.

Obviously a very young wine, but the Dutton fruit is outstanding- it just needs to time to gain complexity. I predict in 2-3 years this will be a mid-90's wine.

Nice and chewy, but the finish was a little bit on the hot side

Drinking well. A little hot on the finish on opening, but after 1 hr, drinking well. Not a typical California cab- meatier and less fruity, more French than California. OTBN 2010.

Based on the 8/2/2008 tasting note, I'd say this one has started to close down a bit. I'd let it lie for a few years before testing it again.

Opened one bottle just to see what I was in for- needs a couple hours of air, but, after that, very smooth and well-integrated. Incredible nose on opening- the quality really shows.

Starting to open up- still needed a couple of hours, but definitely more approachable that it was back in Sept. 07

Shows a lot of potential, but needs more time. Pretty closed at the moment.

Opening nose: overwhelmingly concentrated cassis with a hint of eucalyptus. On pouring, mouthfeel was super satiny, but the finish was way too hot. After two hours, the finish mellowed out in to a very long, very savory surprise. All about tobacco, leather, and earth- the front-end fruit ended up in a savory surprise. Very nice, and very un-California.

Incredible nose on opening, but was way too tight to drink at first. After 90 minutes in the decanter, tannins completely mellowed and it became like drinking pur silk. Outstanding.

This has really gone downhill since my last bottle over a year ago. I think it's past it's peak, for sure.

Must be getting better with age relative to the previous user's tasting notes. Tannins were quite soft, with a very full mouth feel, and lots of vanilla in the nose. A great wine for the price- wish I had bought more of it!

Dark inky color and a lovely nose of rasperry, cola and earth. Very fruit-forward attack, but with a strong tannic structure that leads to a long, satisfying finish. Over the course of an hour or so, it opened up nicely to reveal more complexity and spicyness in the finish. Overall, a great wine for the price.

Nose of blackberries, with hints of floral and slight caramel. Chewy and minerally on the palate. I hope it will become more complex over the coming two or three years.

Strawberries and cream in the nose- strawberries and cassis on the palate, with a grapefruit-citrus finish. Excellent and creamy- a great find!

Good fruit and mouth feel, but lacked tannins and had weak structure. Needed more time.
