From Coravin at Chateau. Ruby color with some modest bricking. Nose abounds with leather and some light animal/brett/cheese. Palate is red fruit dominant: strawberry and pomegranate, but also some black currant. Medium+ finish and still some discernable grip. Concentrated and slightly tart, but also fully evolved with every aspect in nice harmony. The clear winner of the vertical.

12/10/16, 12:00 PM - Andre, my sense is that the 88 was at or very near its peak right now, and this was from a winery bottle cellared at the Chateau. If you're confident it's seen similar storage I'd say it probably can do 3-5 more years, but not much more, and it's by no means a sure thing.

Pnp at restaurant. Rich palette and silky, integrated tannin. Medium acidity. Not an in-your-face kind of style, but refined and great depth of fruit.

10/14/15, 11:00 PM - BuzzzzOff, I'm kicking myself for not taking more detailed notes, but my impression was that this is entering an early maturity stage. Not much in the way of tertiary characteristics yet though. So, while I agree with a lot of tasters that its still somewhat tight and will continue to improve in that regard, I would also say it is more or less mature from a tannin and acid softening/balance perspective. It has the stuffing to go perhaps up to ten more years, but didn't strike me as something ideally suited to that.
