Blah, decent nose, otherwise a pitiful Barolo.

Absolutely great. Black currant, dark red and blue fruit. Nicely balanced, and long finish. If you like Napa Cabs, especially mountain Cabs, give it a go.

Closed down big time when opened, couldn't smell a thing. 4 hours later, really started to shine. Even later it was kicking, only problem... it was all gone. Dark cherries, blueberries, dark chocolate. Cedar, smoke, hint of leather. Note to self, keep the other bottles for years down the road.

big fruit, little hot at first. french oak evident, even too much so. what happened to making pinot pinot, and not making pinot into just another overdone wine. that being said, enjoyable, crowd pleaser, good for an outside get together pregame wine. not worth the $ in my opinion.

Drying tannins on the finish and adequate acid makes me think this has the potential to go the long haul. Herbs, dried red fruit. Tre bicchieri.

Heavy weight style, lush, great S. Leap fragrance. Blueberries, raspberries. Cedar, heavy oak, but in balance. Alcohol in check. Very nice.

Started out tannic like Brunello should be. After opened for 4-5 hours, seemed more like a lighter colored Super Tuscan. Decent complexity, interesting enough. Tar, roses, dark red fruit.

Hold, tannins little harsh, rough around the edges. Not much round merlot fruit happening right now.

Solid, well built Napa Syrah. Good value, but it's not going to knock your socks off.

Cali Cab with a little elegance, and not too much oak treatment. Really liked it, drinking really well, but wouldn't expect another 10-15 out of it.

Put it away for a couple more years. Dryyyy tannins, after a few hours open it gets going with the Italian sour cherry thing.

just not good barolo. black currant, stemmy. major pass. not happy to have 6 more bottles. did begin to give of some sour cherry flavors, but still seemed off balance.

Ditto on the last few reviews. Seemed to take a while to open up, but when the sour cherries started coming out it was on.

Not sure what I was smoking when I rated the first bottle of this wine, but wouldn't crack the 90 pt barrier with this bottle. Opened this one along with an '04 Barbi Brunello upon returning from a trip to Italy and Montalcino. I thought the Barbi beat this handily head to head. Maybe it was a let down from not being in the land of Brunello anymore, but it didn't seem to have the complexity and structure I expected.

Dark. Thick plum, figgy nose, with some dark cherries and meatiness. Spicy cinnamon and black fruits.

Sicilian mediated marriage of Barolo and Burgundy. Arid tannins. Needs time. Definitely Italian.

Heavy on the oak. Gravel, strawberries, blackberries, wood chips. I agree with lsnider, not a big fruit bomb, which is nice.

Really liked this. Dark fruit, nicely integrated tannins, dense, delicious. Opened a couple days after a Stags Leap premium cab at 2.5x the cost and i think this would have given it a run for the money.
