Directly after opening lovely fruity tones, within minutes completely flat. Down the sink....

This is great now. Rich, balanced, great acidity. Some hours after opening more layers develop with lively Selosse like oxidizid tones, really elevating this wine further.

My last bottle. Nose and taste buttery Meursault like, Leflaive kind of style. Taste shows less fruit than earlier, however great structure and depth. Great 10 year BB.

This has been a difficult wine, fairly closed and tannic up till now. The bottle I opened today has changed, peppery fruity nose, good body, complexity, lovely to drink.

Very good nose as you would expect from Pierre Yves, expressive, fruity, zesty. Taste round and nervous, still a bit tight, or is it a bit lighter than the 2017 version? Time will tell.

Again a superb PYCM bottle. Crisp and lively white burgundy, very mineral in nose. Jummy.

Rare wine, only 907 bottles made. Excellent, lovely nose with dark fruit and complex spicy tones, smelling the wine is already a treat. Taste similar, long finish. Hedonistic wine.

This is such a beautiful wine, redfruit, earthy tones, sweetness, velvety, lots of body but not heavy due to alcohol percentage of 12.5%. I could drink this every day.

Very interesting red wine from Bretaudeau. Expected Cabernet Franc but directly after tasting I had the idea this is different. Red fruit nose and taste, pleasant to drink, some tannins, body, spices, difficult to place. Looked it up: Merlot. This is serious Merlot with depth and distinction.

Degorgement May 2016. Absolutely stunning Initial, got better and better in time in bottle after opening (just leave it be for an hour). Fruit, oxidized tones and acidity combined in heavenly taste, great length.

Fullbodied wine in nose and taste. There is however too much wood present at the moment, making this wine not very drinkable for me. It will take some time to integrate this wood in the wine; I am not sure whether there is enough fruit left for this to happen.

Slightly corked nose. Palate is good, citric, creamy, tension. But it is difficult to drink this without smelling the wine. I recently also had a really corked 2010 Avizoise from Agrapart....

Lovely rose champagne. Nose and taste red fruit, lots of extract, it’s like you are drinking a village Burgundy. Very refreshing, great mouthfeel, even tannins in the background, you just want to keep on drinking more.

Very aromatic and mineral muscadet, deep sweet tones. Lovely. Although this has enormous length, personnaly I would like the mid-palate to have just a bit more volume. Reminds me a bit of top Riesling wines. With more time in cellar this will most likely develop more body.

Really lovely Savennieres. Aromatic nose, very concentrated taste, long finish. Citrus, apples, amazing minerality, florality, white flowers. Depth and balance. Combination with white asparagus and tarragon hollandaise sauce was breathtaking, many Chardonnays would have struggled.

Leiden again in Rotterdam at Fitzgerald: Most Rayas I have had so far were Burgundy kind of wines. This is different, really CdP, los of spice, fruit, chocolate, sweetness. A bit volatile at first, but this resolves in the glass. At first I thought it was still young and a bit out of balance. However in combination with food the wine improved and found balance, really became a great wine.

Leiden again in Rotterdam at Fitzgerald: I used to think that it was a crime to drink these wines early, but this again shows that it is not. Very expressive, spicy nose and taste, velvety, layered and complex. Medium concentration but huge finish. Lovely.

Leiden again in Rotterdam at Fitzgerald: Typical Bachelet nose, fruit with a hint of greenness, I love these Bachelet noses. Taste lots of fruit and concentration, spice, a bit rustique, long finish. Already 9 years old, lovely Charmes. Great to drink now, I think it will develop further in bottle but I am not certain.

Leiden again in Rotterdam at Fitzgerald: Opened up the bottle in advance, but did not decant. A bit dissapointing, was expecting a very expressive nose, but this is only giving dark fruit. In taste lots of structure, again dark fruit, also restricted. Slowly opens in glass, showing more and more diverse tones, but never a wow moment. I think this needs more time in bottle and was opened too early. Maybe we should have decanted. Or was this just a bad bottle? Someone else at the table thought that this is what 2008 is and that it will not get better.

Leiden again in Rotterdam at Fitzgerald: Sometimes you can instantly determine in the nose whether you have a Batard, Chevalier or Bienvenus Batard. Well, this wine does not give a clue to its terroir. Just a lovely grand cru Burgundy, huge wine, lots of concentration, depth, long finish; still a bit young but already so rewarding.

Leiden again in Rotterdam at Fitzgerald: Wow, typical perrieres in nose and taste, all about focus, concentration and laser like minerality. Starts with citrus, minerals and acidity, it spreads out in many layers with long finish. Comtes lafon is so good in the last years.

Leiden again in Rotterdam at Fitzgerald: Expressive wine, some reduction in nose, which to my opinion only makes it better. Taste very fresh, citrus, lots of depth and complexity, some nuttiness, smoke, green tea, iodine and saline. Great backbone of acidity. Magical wine, one of the better Coche’s that I have drunk.

Leiden again in Rotterdam at Fitzgerald: Soft nose, brioche, citrus, delicate mousse. Hugely concentrated, laser sharp acidity, citrus taste. What is most impressive is the enormous length, this Cristal stays singing around in your mouth for minutes.
