Red
2018 Pio Cesare Barbaresco Pio Nebbiolo
A blend of fruit of Bricco di Treiso, San Stunet (San Stefanetto), Bongiovanni (out of the MGA zone in Treiso) and Rocche Massalupo. The 2018 is a very finessed and youthfully expressive wine, with a mid-weight body and a clear red fruited core with floral reflexes. Smooth tannins and a finely woven texture go hand in hand with the overt flavors of mixed red berries, fresh rose petal, heaps of dried flowers, spice and underlying road tar; a very classic Nebbiolo spectrum. This has both enough smoothness and freshness to to deliver a lot immediately. Aged for appr. 30 months in cask (French and Slavonian oak) and a small part in barriques.

thanks for your comment. i am no fan of points/scores at all and share teobaldo cappellano's idea, not to rate a wine - this my very personal idea though. i am more about words and phrases, which in my TN should show how much i like the wine. if in end it's maybe 98, 99 or 100 does not matter to me.
