Picked this up from TCWC for $25. Earthy, dark fruit, fine but abundant tannins. It’ll age for a long time, but the fruit is nearly gone. It will taste like a mouthful of liquid compost in 10 years…but it will be smooth liquid compost.

Worth $25 and fun to drink V Madrone for potentially the last time…

Lighter than expected for a 2018 reserve, especially based on recent reviews. Acidic, medium body, tart blackberry and coffee flavors. Needs a lot of time to mellow out. Certainly not an $80+ bottle as touted but worth about what I paid. Hopefully this comes around and the acid/tartness mellow out and the flavors meld a bit over the next few years.

In a great spot right now. Great balance of fruit and secondary earthy flavors. Can be enjoyed with or without food. Good on pop and pour or with an hour of air. QPR from Last Bottle is fantastic.

I liked the first few bottles much more. Fruit was more evident and it was smoother. I think this is shutting down so I’ll let them sit for at least 6 months before opening another.

Nice & easy summer drinker. Tropical fruit flavors with a touch of lemon. Smooth, creamy and full mouthfeel without being “buttery”. Oak and fruit are balanced. Perhaps a touch sweeter than I’d prefer but overall very pleased with this Chardonnay, especially at $11/bottle.

A bit more sweet than I’d prefer, but its not too candied. Good bright fruit. Some faint earthy syrah notes at this early stage. Not very complex. Smooth and easy drinker. Some tannins present on the finish. Great crowd pleaser, cellar defender, Tuesday night pizza wine...whatever you want to call it. QPR is fantastic.

I think Wine Enthusiast nailed it: Candied red fruit defines the core of this 100% varietal wine, with accents of cedar, sage and dried herb. Buzzy acidity keeps it fresh against a wall of robust ripeness and chalky tannins. VIRGINIE BOONE

I’d add a touch of warm vanilla, but the red fruit and acidity were powerful in this wine. Very enjoyable.

Sweet and easy drinking red. No backbone, and lacks structure but went well with a red sauce bolognese made with sweet italian sausage. Perfect weekday pizza/pasta wine. Would buy again at $22.

This is drinking really nice right now. Soft tannins, really smooth mouthfeel. Great brambly-zin fruit and ends with a great spice note. It has fine sediment, so I’d recommend standing this up for a day and a slow decant. It is very good upon initial pour and gets slightly better over the next hour. It has plenty of life left with the Peak likely being 1-2 years out.

Coravined a glass tonight. This bottle could be flawed so I’m not scoring. The nose and flavors are simple red fruit and alcohol. Medium bodied. Smooth mouthfeel. Even after time in the glass it just did not come around.

Sweet and candied fruit at this point. Grapey, dark fruits with a dark liquor flavor. Hopefully this settles down over time but at this point it is not up to the standard set by the 2015 and 2016. We saved a third of a bottle for tomorrow to see if it evolves.

Not sure I’ve ever had a wine this smooth before. Really easy drinking and perfect for a Sunday sipper. Bright strawberry and some earthiness in the mid palate. The finish leaves a bit to be desired with a touch of menthol and nice white pepper, but not much length. Overall, a very nice pinot that I don’t feel bad about opening so young. Pop one now if you have a few.

Licorice, earth and red berry. Lighter in body than most cabs, good structure and acidity. Could sit for a few years. Enjoyable wine, drink with red meat.

Better on day two. Full bodied, complex kitchen sink of a wine. Went well with beef stuffed mushrooms.

Evolved significantly over 3 hours. Medium weight, very smooth with tannin to go another few years easily. Some heat on the end. Nice fruit up front. The nose has good dark fruit and a wet, woody earthiness over it. Drink with a 1+ hour decant, or hold. Can’t beat this for $30 on Last Bottle.

Hitting on all cylinders right now. Brambly dark fruit. White pepper on the finish. No detectible heat despite the high ABV. Silky smooth with just enough tannin present. Drink now and enjoy!

Started tightly wound with good red fruit and some green to it, which I don’t care for. After decanting, aerating and giving some time in the glass, the green faded and the dark fruits came out. It opened and softened which revealed a nice wine.

A good wine given its youth. Heavy oak that will hopefully integrate with time. Nice with meat lasagna.

Enjoyed this wine. All fruit at first. Needed decanted. After 70 minutes the oak began to show in flavors of vanilla and cinnamon. Very nice wine and great value from LBW. after 3 hours the oak continued to show more and more. Catch it between 60-180 minutes and you wont be disappointed.

Continuing my tour of the 2016’s, I selected the Carlisle Vineyard tonight. I don’t think I’ve ever had a zin with blood orange as the most prominent flavor, but this one has it...Mr. Officer nailed the flavor profile again. Along with cherry, cranberry and medium body, this has bright acidity and tannins to balance it. A minty sensation with slight alcohol is on the backend of this. A nice and complex wine.

Typical silkiness of a Trespass wine. Great zin qualities with black and red fruit and white pepper. Some heat from the higher alcohol, but that blew off over time. Good tannins that show this will last 5 years or so. We double decanted and let sit for 90 minutes which made a huge difference.

Needs time. Aerated and PnP’d. Nose of some chocolate and brambly zinberry. Solid Zin and looking forward to drinking over the next 5 years. Definitely will improve.

A very nice wine. Still tannic. I opened and stood this up for about 3 hours before consuming. I would recommend standing it up for at least 24 hours before opening, and slow decanting for 2-4 hours of air. It will be better in 3 years. Lots of delicious dark fruit and prominent but silky tannins. Really nice dark color. Toasty oak with some vanilla but not over the top. Love this wine and will seek out more.

Woof. Huge mouthful of cherry/berry jam mixed with something nasty like the fat that turns to jelly at the bottom of an old refrigerated rotisserie chicken. One glass was enough. On a 20 pt rating scale from 80-100, this one gets a 3.

Nice red rose pedal color. A bit sweet to start with tart red fruit throughout - mainly cranberry and cherry. Decent cab but not my style and not worth $50/btl.
