Popped and poured at dinner tonight. Nice balance of tropical fruits and minerality. More French than Cali. Good w food. Thank you Jeff.

One sip of this and I'm thinking that I need to go back to the beautiful Laetitia winery to get more of this Pinot. Medium bodied with cherry, earth, cola, and smoke flavors. I'm happy to report that this probably has 0% Syrah.

6/29/15, 11:36 AM - That remark is a bit tongue-in-cheek. Its just that my usual favorite Pinot Noir from Sonoma Coast has often been over the top hence my comment about Syrah content.

There are lots of impressive things about this wine: it's impressive golden glow; the impressive ripe nose of banana, lime zest, and stone fruits; it's .... impressive flavors of peach, pineapple, apple, and stone. But the most impressive thing is that this came all the way from South Africa to the States and cost under $20. I believe this has just become the house white wine.

A very hot nose. This has flavors of strawberry, cherry, cocoa, and a hint of licorice. Paired very well with my famous fried organic okra.

A restaurant purchase. Nose had red berries and a hint of smokiness. Prominent and dominant raspberry flavors along with that smokiness and just a hint of earthiness. Overall this was subdued but in a good way.

Very dark in the glass with a moderate perfume nose. This medium bodied wine has a very smoky meaty flavor to it along with plum flavors. A good purchase.

I was easily captivated by white Burgundy but I've never been wowed by Red Burgundy but this now has my attention after trying this which was generously provided by JuliannaD.

Faded deep brick red all the way through; Subtle funk and sweat (think a cute blonde after a workout vs. your old gym socks), earth and coffee aromas; sharp and tangy cherry, spices/cinnamon, and orange flavors. Layered, luscious, and delicious.
