Solid red rim, no signs of aging. Powerful and nowhere near its peak yet. A lovely wine already but this will definitely get better. I won’t open another bottle for 2 years. This will be special when it eventually unfurls. Update: after 4 hours in a decanter after opening and half the wine returned to the bottle after drinking, the next day this had softened beautifully and was quite remarkable.

Stunning. After several bottles drunk over the last 4 years this is now at peak drinking for my pallette. Bursting with blackcurrant, tobacco, vanilla and some licorice. Suoerb.

Still plenty of life left in this and not yet at it’s best. If I had another bottle I would give it 2-3 years before I opened it. Decanted for a couple of hours and was much better the second evening of drinking. A very good wine which will improve with more time in bottle. Recommended.

In the goldilocks zone, drinking beautifully. Drank a bottle a year or two ago and was closed down. Oily, saline, white fruit, slight nuttiness. Well balanced and a joy to drink. Highly recommended.

Sublime Cornas. Purity of fruit aplenty with rocky minerality and grip. Blackberry, blackcurrent, graphite and leather. Very good, Ferraton never fail to impress. My favourite northern rhone producer.

Sensational. I think this is very near its peak. Dark soft fruit, powerful, beautifully balanced, soft tannins, no rough edges in sight. This is so well knitted together, a real classy bottle and great value. One of the best southern Rhone's i have tasted.

A sublime reisling. Great VFM IMO. Vegetal notes, stone fruits and honey. This has lovely acidity, is palate cleansing, ethereal, well balanced and very long. A real gem.

Lovely stuff. Medium bodied and well balanced. Cassis ( blackcurrant ), black cherry, leather, cedar, cigar box, some licorice. Earthy. Good value. Recommended.

Beautiful reisling. Ethereal, mineral, saline and well balanced. With tropical fruit and lovely acidity that leaves you almost dribbling and ready for the next sip. Very moreish. Great value. Highly recommended

Poor. Lacks pretty much everything, totally lifeless. Kept in an ageing cabinet at 12-13 Celcius. Plenty of drinking window left, the only thing it had was excessive heat.

Beautiful young viognier. Paired with scallops pan fried in a sauternes mousse which went extremely well. Heady aromas of peach and violets. Oily, white peach, caramel from the oak. An exceptional bottle for this price point.

Decanted for 2 hours a day before drinking. Very youthfull and for me would benefit from at least a couple more years ageing, maybe 4. Excellent now but will definitely improve with more time. Recommended.

Superb. I would recommend drinking this now.

Nose: A funky medicinal smell which eases slightly with time. Notes of varnish, wet leaves/ pepper.

Palate: An abundance of dark, sweet and tangy fruit. Mainly blackberry and blackcurrant. There is a jaminess to this wine, an excess of sweetness. There is also wet earth/ leaves and a hint of licorice present.

The finish is laced with varnish, spice, and is slightly overbearing.
This is a very full flavoured wine that would suit a similar dish, a full on stew or tagine. Personally i think it is too sweet and a bit unbalanced.

Superb. Still very young and fruit forward but starting to develop. Cassis and black cherry, with a hint of vanilla and leather with some pepper. Very well balanced with good acidity which provides lift. Very smooth with soft tannins. This will definitley improve with age, the stuffing is there. Looking forward to drinking this again in the coming years, highly recommended.
