Ruby, some clearing at the rim. 2013 was a years with massive rain during the harvest in most of the left bank with diluted wines as a result. The 12,5% ABV is sort of a reminder of the good old days of bordeaux.

At opening the wine is a bit angular with pronounced overpowering grainy tannins.

The nose is not too powerful, but nice forest floor, pencil shavings, faint red fruit.

After a while in the glass (30 minutes) it has a gentle cassis and currant leaf profile, approachable with good acid structure. A light styled wine.

Maybe too technical for most, there are better options if you're out to get a broad shouldered powerhouse of a wine. Pleasantly surprised, 11 EUR.

Consumed over two days, needs time to open up, best on day 2 (double decant). Big nose, plum, spice box, chocolate. High acidity, a bit grainy tannins, plum and some dark fruit, some tertiary notes with forest floor, good medium length without any gaps. Great, wish they still retailed for the 2008 price.

2008 Château Montrose St. Estèphe Red Bordeaux Blend (view label images)
Good fill. Decanted 5 hours before first tasting, reintroduced to bottle at the end of the evening and tried the following day. Cassis, some forest floor, great length, high acidity, good structure with permissible tannins, very good, better day 2. Decant if consumed today, many years left alive.

2004 Château Montrose St. Estèphe Red Bordeaux Blend (view label images)
Great cork and fill. Upon opening mainly some beginning tertiary notes with light forest floor, not too much fruit. Opens up with air and when tried on day 2 much more open and some cassis/plum. Medium length, still rather tannic. As of now needs decanting.

1994 Château Lamarzelle Cormey St. Émilion Grand Cru Red Bordeaux Blend (view label images)
1994 warm summer, but massive rain entire September

Not good, dried out, saw dust and wet dog's fur. Good cork, good level, auction.

1990 Château Smith Haut Lafitte Blanc Pessac-Léognan Sémillon-Sauvignon Blanc Blend (view label images)
Auction bottle, pristine cork. 1990 dry hot year with high temperatures in August as well.

Honey and light mint on the nose, yellow apple?. Palate with some mint, honey, apple, some citrus. Still very much alive, balanced and refined, good acidity, decent length. Very good.

Got two patache d'Aux as "bonuses" when buying a grand puy ducasse 82. from the 81 vintage that started out great (maybe a cold July, but hot August/september) but was offset by heavy rain at harvest time. Diluted fruit, low alcohol levels and many producers had to chapitalize.

This bottle had a lower fill level than the other bottle, being just at the bottom of the neck. Cork with expected mold, but of good quality. Came out in one piece (well) using a cork screw+ah so opener

Beautiful brownish red color. Nose with nail polish, forest floor, "damp basement". At one time there seemed to be a flash of some green pepper and cherry. Thin. Only tertiary notes, drinkable, not enjoyable (except maybe that fleeting moment)

flawed
Cork defect, seems good beyond the TCA, rich, long aftertaste, too bad
Red
Good bottle condition, good capsule, ok level at bottomish neck, fine cork, from bottle to glass, lightish nose some red fruit, nail polish, light and cool, tannins almost totally resolved, mostly tertiary aromas. Not a great wine, but enjoyable still, past its prime
Red
1992 Château Batailley Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend (view label images)
Smooth, almost resolved tannins, pleasant acidity, not much fruit left, forest floor, leather, maybe some green pepper, alive, pleasant, "past peak"
Red
2003 Château Beau-Site St. Estèphe Red Bordeaux Blend (view label images)
Garnet light clearing at the rim, wonderful nose, vanilla and spice, mostly red fruit and spice on the palate, oak fully integrated, high acidity, medium+ finish, alive and well, not spectacular, will probably hold for many more years good stuffing
Red
1999 Château Batailley Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend (view label images)
Still a great showing, alive, red fruit, leather, oak fully integrated, powerful still, but elegant, tannins mostly resolved, high acidity, good!
Red
2002 Château Beauregard Pomerol Red Bordeaux Blend (view label images)
Really liked this one, still very much alive, evolves with time, sandalwood, black fruit, full bodied, high acidity, very long finish, very good
Red
Still going strong, pronounced tannins for the first hour or so even with decanting, red fruit, tar, leather, still good, not great, perfect in my taste
Red
2002 Château Giscours Margaux Red Bordeaux Blend (view label images)
Vanilla, black fruit, good length, tannins medium high, still great showing, not extraordinary

Dark fruit/blackberry, forest floor and leather on the nose, still alive, but fruit is fading, forest floor, autumn leaves, leather, lingering light blackberry, vanilla, maybe past it's prime, but still agreeable
Red
Bombastic, concentrated dark fruit on the nose, some vanilla, powerful dark fruit with bramble berry, some vanilla, medium length, structured but approachable with medium to low medium high tannins and medium acidity

Started out a bit worrying thought it might be flawed, sewage? Blew away with some time in the decanter, no detailed notes, light feel, forest floor, mushrooms, light strawberry, drinkable, but starting to fade
Red
Great, still rough tannins, cool red fruit, violet, leather and rubber, give it at least a couple a years more
