Founding Greek label of Cabernet Sauvignon 2009 from star gazing 950m. high vineyards.
2hr aeration & still developing delicate dried blackberry aromas evenly perfumed by leathery nutmeg fog. Refreshing med acidity, integrated med tannins, underlined mineral veins on lively crisp med body. Fresh woody earthy flavors on the palate with black peppery tanginess on spicy med+ finish.
Still tannic & ragged with balancing acidity, this CS promises better from 2022-28. Old style no less!

Nemea 2015 from high altitude Asprokampos plots.
Lovely Pinot Noir-ish aromatics like hibiscus, rose petals, pomegranate, shifting to vanilla, raspberry, wet soil scents.
Lean silky mouthfeel of elegant med acidity, supple med tannins & clean mineral veins on slender med+ body.
Flavors of spiced raspberry sauce switching to myrtle & vanilla notes with exciting cassis-choco-leathery aftertaste on long finish. Grand finesse Nemea 15, needs 1hr aeration to unveil its heavenly package.

Bio Assyrtiko 2017, from 550m. high altitude single vineyard in Halkidiki, in 6month sur lie maturation.

Bold aromatic volume of citrus blossoms, grapefruit & freshly baked bread scents. Highly refreshing mouthfeel of framed med acids & solid med mineral spine on med body. Citrus yeasty palate edged to lime acid med finish.
Nicely made mainland Assyrtiko 2017 with good space for improvement. Could perform even better in summery conditions.

Impressive rare grape Avgoustiatis 2016 from Ileia in limited 1980bt release.
Excessive blackberry jammy scents wrapped in elegant tobacco, clove & nutmeg cloud.
Crisp woody texture with supple acids & lively med acids livening up on med+ body.
Generous jammy palate mostly black cherry & blackberry preserve with bold caramelised licorice heating on slightly high alcohol long aftertaste.

Avgoustiatis on the rise! Great expression in 2016 vintage from reliable winery, drinks till 2023 nicely,

Cabernet Franc 2010 Cava, iconic label from Drama.
Fueled cooked fruit aromatics mostly of prune, plus fine clove whiffs.
Med tannins, lifting on earthy mouthfeel & med body. Balsamic savory palate, spiced cooked blackberries & cherries notes plus fig, eucalyptus, menthol & generous bitter choco cream on long aftertaste.
Complex gastronomy profile on quality Cabernet Franc 2010 drinks till 2024.

PDO Amyndeo, Xinomavro 2017 sourced from 690m. high altitude single vineyard, 12month oak & 12month bottle maturation.
Used both Wine Breather & Vinturi aeration. Subtle but developing gastronomic scents of black olive tapenade, sundried tomato paste, dried oregano, eucalyptus.
Lean & nervous mouthfeel of lively med acids, polished med tannins on med body. Sour gourmet palate, tomato, olive, thyme with feral, ham & white pepper flavors on powerful long exit.

Michel Rolland somehow moved Bordeaux to Drama, otherwise I can't explain the striking taste resemblance.
This nectar confirms 2013 as fab vintage year. Needed 1hr to unleash elegant smoked cassis aroma tied in ethereal leathery pouch.
Silky texture pumped by structural med tannins & purifying med- minerals on full body.
Leather & earth dominate the palate with complementary green fig, caramelised licorice, violet & roasted cocoa cream on long drying aftertaste.

Blend of local Mouhtaro 50% & Merlot 50% in 12month barrique, sourced from Helicon slopes, vintage 2016 in limited 2800 bt.
1st ever encounter with rare Mouhtaro grape & pretty excited with delicate spicy opening of powdery nutmeg, clove, smoked tobacco plus dry lavender, violet & creamy vanilla aromas.
Plush velvet mouthcoating with refreshing acids shaping on slender med+ body. Ripe cherries, black fig jam, rose lokhum in off-dry palate crescendo, with mild clove spiced vanilla on med+ exit

Opens with heartwarming candied plum & boiled cocoa aromas plus vanilla whiffs. Glossy silk viscosity, supple med tannins & low acidity on lean med body. Subtle jammy palate spiced by tobacco, vanilla, polished leather & milk chocolate in harmonious med+ aftertaste. 2012 drinks well now until 2024 at least.
