Decent, but not my favorite PN from Siduri. This is their more generic offering though, but in regards to a QPR, they’re probably higher.

Nice, but young CS. Definitely has a good future ahead of it. Need to get more to lay down.

Interesting bottle. The candidate for nearly 3 hours, and it just seemed a little out of place. Nowhere near as good, rich, or savory as the previous bottles. Definitely wasn’t corked, but just didn’t seem to be all together. ?

Had this at Napa in Newport 2024. My friend bought a table, and it was Pulido-Walker’s table. The other vintages we had were 2013, and 2019. Being older, they were both better, but this was also very good. Very smooth, fresh fruit, but big tannins that are going to need a few (several? ??) years to soften! This was the 2nd half of a bottle.

I’m not a Syrah expert by any means, but I just think the Syrahs from Down Under taste better to me. They’re a bit darker, subtle (never a known trait from Napa), but still lighter, than the Syrahs from Napa, including this one. Yes, it was young, so it was fresh, but I decanted it for 2 hours, and drank it over the next 2 hours (with minimal change).

Overall, it was Dry, and medium-bodied, typical New World Syrah. And typical of a Napa Syrah profile it had lots of pepper, blueberry, and blackberry. And a touch on the backend of tobacco, olive, and rosemary.

To be fair, I really need to end this note with some clarification… I’m no Syrah expert, so don’t read too much into my notes (on any of my Syrah tastings.! 😳

Very nice Siduri PN. Nice 90 Pointer. Might’ve developed a bit more character in depth, if I had left it in bottle longer. But still very tasty.

Very nice wine. Well-made, nicely balanced. Big mouthfeel with lots of black fruit, plum and herb. Don’t think it has decades ahead of it, but probably another 5 to 7 years.

Nice wine. Decanted 2 hours, and then slowly drank it over the next 4. Aroma was a bit rough, but the taste was excellent. Nicely balanced, with great texture and depth. Lots of dark berries, fig, and plum. A nice 92 pointer, and a great value for what I paid for it. Don’t think it has decades ahead of it, but probably a nice 5 to 7 years.

Boy, did this wine change a ton post-decant. When I first popped it, it almost seemed sweet, and had way too much red cherry-like (soda?) flavor. Decanted for about 90 minutes, and it got quite a bit better. Darker fruits, and more balance. Depth and mouthfeel was better. Sadly, still have to say there’s no need to get more. I’d suggest spending a bit more and get their Oakville or BDX offerings.

Did a nice 90 minute decant before starting. Very helpful, and it still got better as the night ran along. Solid 92 Pointer. Nice aroma, fairly big taste, full, and rich, with lots of black fruit& currants, plum, with some warm vanilla. Very nice. Cant wait to see how this evolves. Need to get more, and lay them down to rest.

Got to say, while this is still a 92 pointer wine, this latest bottle had a green/herbal overtone that made me feel like it might be at the end of its life. My last remaining bottle will be drunk in the next couple days to confirm. Great wine, just might be at the end of a short life.

Definitely a big, huge wine! Lots of depth, and texture. Not an overly spectacular wine, but great with a red meat meal, whether grilled or crockpot.

Another solid 91 Pointer. Just another solid and well-rounded (but BIG) wine! If, key word is, IF I could let these sit & relax for a couple years, they would easily be a 92 Pointer. Maybe I need to get more and see if I can just ignore them. 😂

Another solid core CS from SG. Possibly the best actually. Considering its young age, this is spectacular. Lots of dark fruit, nice oak, with nice, smooth tannins, and a great finish.

I can really only give this a neutral, 89 points. Not bad, but nothing special, and really not worth the price I paid ($30). Both the aroma, and the mouthfeel had a bit of a green, medicinal feel to it. This is 9 years old, it should be nicely aged, relaxed & smooth. It was far from that. The cork, and bottle had almost no sediment at all. In fact, the bottom of the cork was still a very light pink. It tasted like it was a young ‘22 CS. I love Spring Mountain (and Rutherford!), so don’t get me wrong, Smith-Madrone, also on Spring Mountain, does some spectacular stuff, and is a much greater value ($52), even at <2X the price!!!

Decanted for 2 hours. Very much like the previous vintages, this is a very New World Cab, not exceptional, but decent. A typically big, rich (California) Cab, with lots of dark fruit, and oak, but this vintage had a touch of a medicinal aftertaste that lingered way too long. Have to give this a Neutral 90 Points rating.

Honestly, the best thing about this, is that drumroll please, this vintage has had a price decrease of ~25%!!! When, in the last 30+ Years, have you seen a Napa Winery REDUCE their CS price, well at least WTSO reduced their $$$. Actually, that alone, makes me feel like I should give it a better rating. Sounded good, but no, not yet. 😜

Damn, this is good. Decanted for almost 4 hours. Big, dark, rich, savory, with tons of blackberry, dark chocolate, espresso, and oak. Raising it a point to 92.

Last bottle, decanted for 3 hours. It was as good as my last two. Being nearly a year since my last bottle, I thought it might’ve improved a bit. Best as far as I can tell, it was just like the others, a very nice bottle, rich, savory, nice dark fruit, mineral, graphite and oak, with an exceptional QPR! Leaving it at 91 points!

Took this bottle out to a dinner. PnP’d and it was spectacular. Light in the aroma, like so many of SG’s Cabernet, but rich, and savory in it’s taste. Excellent balance, smooth tannins, and nice finish. Glad I’ve got more coming! I need to relax and let them sit, relax and smooth even more!

It was OK, but certainly nothing to write home about. I think the wines from this place are a tad overblown, and are priced about 50% too high, maybe even more. I’ve had both their CS, and PN, and thought both were quite mediocre.

Very nice, but still very young. Decanted for close to 4 hours. Nice, dark, and rich. Rich black fruit, and oak, with a really nice rich aroma. This has many, many years ahead of it. Getting Moore to lay down.

Nice wine dark, and deep in color. Nice big aroma. Taste was big, and deep, with lots of black fruit & oak. Even though I decanted it for 3 hours before, it’s still seem to be a little discombobulated, and not completely imbalance. Still very good, and I’m chalking it up to its relatively young age. I’ve got another 2019 (as well as a 2016 and two 2018s). I’ll do my best to leave it alone for another 3+ years.

Like every Salvestrin CS, this was excellent. Probably not their best effort, but it was a challenging year as well. Decanted for two hours. Nice aroma, and dark fruit. Rich, and dry, but the tannins were a tad rough. A few more years will help.

Another terrific bottle. This is just a big, dark, rich, and tasty wine! Lots of depth to the flavor, with black fruit, cigar box, and oak. And while I really like big, over-the-top wines this, to me, has a great balance, texture, and tannins in check. I’ve already bought more, and very happy for it, but I may go back, and actually increase my order. Great QPR!

Terrible. Probably one of the worst, if not the worst, Rutherford CS I’ve ever had. Decanted for 90 minutes. The color is a dirty pink rosé-like. Aroma is fruity, taste is fruity with a bomb green to it. Just awful. If I didn’t know any better, I wouldn’t even have thought. This was a Cabernet Savignon. I have three bottles, and all three were, sad to say, the same.

Wow, this might be my 2nd favorite Pinot from Siduri. Very intense, structured, and concentrated. Heck, as I review this note, and taste a bit more, this may be my new #1. But I’ll always love Siduri’s SLH Pinots!

I have one of their ‘21 Skycrest Pinots. Can’t wait to see how it tastes. 🤔

PnP. Opened and sipped. BIG, and tight, but tons of potential. Decanting the rest. Looking forward to it.

Ok, decanted & drank over 3.5 hours. Definitely opened up, and got better. A Solid 92 Pointer, and possibly 93 points as it relaxes in my cellar. I may get a few more to lay down.
