Well, I’m a bit mixed on this one. Upon opening and drinking half the bottle we thought it was a bit grapey. Put it in the fridge for a couple of days and it definitely seems better than the first night. Aromas of red fruits, earthy, and spices. On the bud, it has a nice finish with red cherry, currants, and a spice note.

A tad pinkish with stronger berry notes than traditional Champagne. Fuller bodied and a nice texture. Yeasty as well.

some good BBQ it works pretty well. Ruby red with spice, oak, and cherry aromas. It’s got a spice note, grapey jammy flavors, and a minor bit on the finish. Worked well with our Burgundy Peppered Tri-tip for dinner.

A beautiful coppery gold color with aromas of apricot, peach, and mint. It fills the mouth beautifully and is sweet, but not overly sweet. Definitely honey and orange on the bud. Went well with our Charcuterie board.

Although this is just one of there standard Cabs and not single vineyard, we thought it was fantastic and my oldest bottle from the Castle. Rich ruby with aromas of blueberry, plum, and cedar. On the bud, it is smooth and full bodied with berries and spice. The finish is long. Went great with our filets and rosemary potatoes.

Liquid Gold! Strong minerality with citrus and mild butter aromas. On the bud, it’s smooth with citrus notes and a bit of tartness on the finish. Great with Smoked Salmon and Bok Choy. It’s a really nice winery to visit in a remote location ! Great service and the coast

Great Pinot for Turkey Day dinner. Aromas of dark cherry, plum, blackberry, leather, and earth. On the bud, it has a wonderful finish with a nice spice note and more plum. Unfortunately, it’s my last bottle of this vintage.

Decided to break open this Brunello tonight, after having a 2015 Argiano last night. This one is super rich with dark cherry, chocolate, and spice aromas. On the bud, the cherry notes continue to come out with cedar/oak notes and subtle spice notes. It velvety smooth with mild tannins and a nice long finish. Great with our steak and kale salad. Looking forward to tasting it with our chocolates later. This one is by far the winner of the two wines. I still have 6 more bottles in the cellar and can’t wait to see how it continues to evolve.
