Definitely a stellar performer. We drank this right after 2 Burgundies (Meo-Camuzet Clos de Vougeot Pres Cellier GC and Meo's Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru). Le Pin definitely outperformed them handsomely. One can argue that Burgudy Pinot Noirs are different in varietal, hence different in characteristics. But it all boils down to the drinker's preference. I personally would drink a fine bottle from Le Pin any time over a grand cru Burgundy Pinot.
Great balance of alcohol, tannin and acidity. Silky smooth to drink and very complex on palate. Noticeable taste of dark berries, cherry, cream and chocolate. Nose of fresh forest and pine. The aroma and taste lingers on and on.
