Double decanted - little sediment

Needs 60 minutes of air, we certainly enjoyed too quickly (over 90 minutes mostly with the best performance at the end), be patient is my suggestion here

Nice nose, indicative of older Bordeaux. Over time dried dark cherries and soft tannins. This is great with the right food (steak…) and didn’t have a really exciting or long finish.

66% cab sauv / 34% Merlot

Perfect cork. Maybe an 1/8 inch of color

Dense and succulent with honeydew type freshness. Good weight here - this is rich and coats the entire palette nicely. Some hints on lemon tartness and acid make you want more.
Nice finish, longer than I’d expected and has than sweet honeydew / melon texture and memory to it. Finish is at least 30 seconds
Excellent
Red
Floral nose, nice lite fresh spice with a rich darker berry

Excellent wine - very vosne style with sweeter cherry flavors and lite spiciness. Good medium weight with a nice finish

Excellent village wine
White - Sparkling
1/3 each Pinot noir, Chardonnay and Pinot meunier
Zero dosage
Submerged for 10 months

Amber /very light rose tint

Brightly Acidic, Lemon, felt it on my teeth. Went well with some acidic and lightly spicy food

Some oak or wood into the finish
Red
Raspberry and cocoa, more rustic throughout

13% alcohol

Gamay - one could mistake this for Pinot with a rustic rougher character, well done on the style

Update: blend of 85% Gamay with 15% Pinot Noir, a wine started in 2010 by Thibault to create this Two Earths wine
Red
2016 Halter Ranch Ancestor Paso Robles Adelaida District Red Blend (view label images)
Excellent - really nice cab sauv, petite Verdot and Malbec blend

Lot of strength of darker rich fruit with smooth, strong tannins that are integrated fairly well here

Nice finish

Very enjoyable and easy drinking wine

—-
The Pinot Noir here has been planted between 1970 and 1995. The terroir of this particular plot of land is notable for its high limestone content and thin soil. The commitment to organic viticulture is evident, even though official certification is not in place. When it comes to the winemaking process, the grapes are 100% de-stemmed, followed by a 10-day cold maceration. Subsequently, a 10 to 20-day fermentation with ambient yeast occurs within tanks. The wine is then aged for a period of 15 to 18 months in barrels, of which 20% are new. No fining or filtration processes are employed.

Very graphite and tannic - not to my liking

Fell away after an hour of air with the heat shining through. Tough for the cost

More old world in style overall

Excellent. Needs some time in the glass or leave the bottle to open up.

Richer, deeper fruit. Others have said plum, cherry, I may even go to blueberry crumble

Tannins are small but still strong

This has aging potential for another 3-5 years certainly

Uncomplex finish but overall on the palette is really nice

Easy drinking, light bodied with some moderate tannins gripping the roof

Enjoyable dried or less ripe fruit, little harsh/rough
Red
From a bottle that had 1/4 left and then left open for 2 - 2 1/2 hours. Benefited greatly from air and had wonderful notes of cranberry and tart dark fruit - cherry

Perhaps vintage or the bottle - had elements of being much older, ultimately settling down a bit with food. Not as fresh as others I’ve had

Delicious. Soft and showing age, I’d say within its peak range

Excellent.

After 1 1/2 hours was almost like the berry of a blueberry cobbler

Delicious throughout and despite the above comment, while not old world has old world quality

Easy and enjoyable wine - as vinho verde should be
This is a fuller, rounder wine for the style with less bright/sharpness to it. Nice fresh fruit and some minerality

A good expression of VV

Finished off a bottle 2 days later. Transitioned from lighter and stone fruit to more dense and nutty. Still enjoyable but different and interesting to see the transition

Clean and lighter expression
Nice fruit to the nose
Palette has a very soft mineral element and very soft Granny Smith Apple like note to it.
Clean, easy drinking and nice value
Not as complex as burgundy but excellent wine
This is always a favorite WS production of mine

Avoid - past its window. Just dusty and some acid

Immediately without decanting

Dusty
Tannins are grippy
Flat thin finish
Blueberry as the finish resolves
dont see muchmore here

Decanted to no improvement - didn’t expect one

But a good wine, not my favorite Ribera

Has what I perceive as green, whole cluster nose
If you know it’s clearly Oregon PN, but this could be confused for old world but for the fruit forward
Richer, dense fruit
Great with lamb and lamb sausage

This was classic Sta Rita Hills - lot of whole cluster bbq smokiness and earthy spice mixed with vibrant fresh berries and sweet pomegranate.

Excellent

Tasted blind knowing varietal and region showed through to me clearly

For my taste needs a few years to mellow out and balance out a little more. but a great wine

This was exceptional.

Very nice rich and juicy fruit with a medium to medium plus body for Pinot. Great balance.

Great example of a top producer showcasing what they are capable of doing

Nice fruit basket - deep reds and tartness from the acidity.

Overall well balanced with a moderate finish.

14% alcohol wasn’t hot during the experience but you could feel it over time. Perhaps just the night but it had more than usual

Wild strawberry with high acidity mixed with earth tones giving the impression of drier currents or cranberries.

Lighter hue and lighter bodied than expected.

Needs at least 20-30 minutes to open up and let the balance showcase itself. At first it was more pure acid, let it breath a little

Very nice and light, more acidic fruit than other notes
White
Excellent. Lighter apricot / stone fruits but classic viognier

CdT Dinner (RCC): wonderful wine

on the nose, cedar wood and smokiness from what I presume is the use of whole clusters with red fruit in the background

the palette followed the nose very well, was lighter bodied than I expected, but beautifully so such that the spicy cedar wood and smoke came through delicately

Greatly enjoyable.

Best of 2024; 1/1/2024-12/31/2024: Excellent. Wonderful velvet texture with nice and supple tannins that are wrapped around rich dark fruits - currant, cassis, blackberry.

Wonderful - with some tertiary notes emerging but still nicely vibrant and enjoyable without the tightness or strength of a young Bordeaux. Tertiary notes were wood like - cedar perhaps.

This is very well balanced.

79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 7% Petit Verdot and 4% Cabernet Franc.
