November 21, 2016 - I really like this stuff. I'm on my fourth bottle just this year. I wish I could drink it more slowly to make it last. Cost $24 for full bottle. Not my favourite Madeira, but a good combination of quality and relative affordability. May buy again.
March 15, 2016 - Broadbent Vinho Verde, Port, Madeira: Deep amber, with some reddish and tawny reflections.
Nutty nose - very Madeira. Sweet figs, slight impressions of dates and fruitcake, dried cherry. Complex and sweet with high acid (strong tartaric). Persistent on the palate. Long and strong.
February 2, 2016 - Madeira Pilgrimage; 2/1/2016-2/4/2016 (Madeira): Smells of sweet caramel, orange rind and candied nuts. On the palate, I get raisins, quince paste, candied nuts. This is the same wine as the three year, it’s just aged two more years. It’s really interesting to see what an addition two years of aging does. Significantly more smooth and complex.
January 31, 2015 - Caramel with a touch of zest. Not much length. Good acidity.
