August 17, 2018 - Deep, rich and exotic-tasting, with plenty of smoky accents to the dried mango, apricot and roasted pineapple flavors, featuring notes of crème brûlée. Very fresh midpalate, presenting an unctuous finish of ginger and cream.

November 24, 2016 - Very much in the rich, unctuous Blandy's style. Fragrant nose of salted caramel, treacle and dried figs. Sweet and mouth-coating, with enough acidity to keep it lifted. Not bad for such a young Madeira and at under $50, probably a repeat purchase.

May 14, 2016 - A beautiful high toned stone fruit nose and tons of spice on the nose. A buttery mouth feels and a delightful piquancy on the mid palate. The finish is long and brilliant. Best I've ever had.

February 2, 2016 - Madeira Pilgrimage; 2/1/2016-2/4/2016 (Madeira): Smells of sweet almond cake, figs, honey and apricot jam. Sweet and smooth on the palate. Glazed pear, pear jam, honey, sweet flowers, sea salt, caramel and sweet spice combine in a complex and delicious wine. Very nice, and showing well, although decades to go, of course.

October 13, 2015 - Madeira Wine Institute Tasting (Washington, DC): Light copper color. Gorgeous aromas of figs, apricot jam, clover honey, ginger snaps. Full and oh so creamy on the palate, honey, mango nectar, apricot jam and yellow plums comprise a richly harmonious wine. Long and silky with nuances of ginger, spiced tea and honeycomb. A creamy, full and rich Bual with lots to contemplate and enjoy.
